Hypothetical New Class Role / Revamping The Promotional Role

Everyone knows the promo classes suck big time, but aside from wanting them to be overhauled into more fun viable options what would there new aforementioned roles be? These classes are gimmicky af with a limited card pool, so why not role with that notion?

Rename the Promotional Role to something that sounds more fitting, heck maybe something along the lines of a Maverick class type? The very definition means an unorthodox or independent-minded person, sounds like it falls in line with what how they are set up and It has a better ring to it too if you give it some thought, Assault/Tank/Support/Maverick, heck maybe throw in one more class for that new aforementioned role so we can round off on having 20 classes overall.

Not gonna go in to specifics on how to overhaul them since there’s already plenty of posts that cover that extensively here in the forums, I just wanted to share something I’ve been mulling over during my time attempting to level the “promos” during the holidays. I really wanna like and use these classes but as of now its just difficult to do so.

Again these are just my thoughts/hypothetical stuff I drummed up for funsies, I know for a fact we ain’t getting anymore classes or extensive changes for the time being (as far as I know) but a man can dream. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

They just add them general damage and more resistance passives instead of lame “receiving damage recharge your ultimate”, for example Protector and Architect must have the same Stim percentage as Infiltrator, it has Reaper card that gives you 50% stim + Enhanced Stim +230%, giving you a total of 280% of stim in theory, plus 60% or 75% (as Brawler with their proper cards) damage resistance.
This is my list of changes:

Striker

  • Legendary card has the same damage and behavior like Brawler’s All The Glory skill card
  • First Strike 130% damage on you first hit, It also increases bleed damage if applies (In case you hit a enemy with Breaker Mace)
  • Melee recharge also counts balistic damage
  • Blunt Instrument add 43% damage resistance and 100% melee bleed damage
  • Stim Siphon 200% stim for each melee hit, which means your health also will be restored like Infiltrator Reaper card that restores your health when you kill and receives stim.
  • Passive Double melee damage and 50% extra balistic damage, 30% damage resistance and 50% health regeneration faster
  • Its ultimate has a chain effect as Blademaster Shock Chain Card, meaning the rest of enemies will take damage and will be stunned too.

Protector

  • Regenerative Field Up to 280% stim each 4.5 Seconds
  • Passive 100% Extra damage with melee or any weapon, 75% damage resistance and 80% Balistic weapons Bleed Damage
  • ammo regeneration perk

Architect

  • Regenerative Field Up to 280% stim each 4.5 Seconds
  • Passive 100% Extra damage with melee or any weapon, 75% damage resistance and 80% Balistic weapons Bleed Damage
  • Precision repair passive
  • Escape: Passive 50% ammo regen for all team (also applies with the other engineer class instead of 10% locker recharge)
  • Critical damage perk as Robotic Expert
  • 200% more hologram duration

Note: Both Protector and Architect supposed to be stronger, as they are SPARTANS (Emile and Kat), superhumans, therefore their damage and resistance must be similar to their counterparts on the original Halo games.

Slugger

  • Legendary card 80% bleed damage with balistic weapons and 50% chance of stun a enemy during 11 seconds, 32% damage resistance
  • Damage perk instead shotgun damage perk
  • Passive 30% Damage resistance and 30% more while holding a heavy weapon
  • Modified grenade 150% extra damage, radious and double duration of shock, incendiary and stun grenades
  • Gambit card
  • Double Ultimate duration

No need to overthink to get good ideas and only Slugger would have a “new” card.
Now why I choose bleed damage for the classes? do you really think is fair let them without tools to fight against flying enemies or bosses like guardians or kestrel or matriarch? for the god’s sake give them something nice. They’ll never compare with Demolitions or Brawler for example but at least will be more enjoyable and a valid option on horde and escape matches.
