How has no one complained about this yet?

Meatshied has been pretty OP since its inception. I’m kinda glad they’ve turned it down a notch. You shouldn’t have such a big advantage being able to stroll around and wreck people with a pistol just for meatshielding, it should be a last resort to stop yourself being hit by incoming fire and not to a stupid degree.

You can actually knife people through the meat shield in some cases, dunno if that’s still true.

I figure that the fact that some people can’t even play is a higher priority but yeah I’ve had this problem as well. I only use meat shields to secure my kills anyway as they are useless and executions take forever and shooting someone on the ground can ruin my chance for my kills.

have to say it’s a bit annoying that meat shields will only stop one leech in horde.

Meat shields are whack anyway. Im more concerned with them fixing the simple shotgun dynamics they’ve screwed up so badly

If they want to be innovative they should add the ability for the player to fight off the perpetrator when being held as a meat shield.

The one thing I am glad they nerfed with meatshield is the melee range. And if we are being honest a meat shield shouldn’t ever have saved you from a grenade. If two players are standing in a line and take a grenade in front it isn’t like the guy in the back survives…so a meatshield which is an already mutilated body shouldn’t be able to save you either.

Yes, or if you otherwise die while holding the meat shield, the victim should be revived. There should be some risk/reward.

I’m a designer by trade. That was my first complaint when I played the gears4 beta. I thought it was a placeholder up until the final version was released.

Meatshield was never op in 4 with the weak ■■■ snub pistol. The meatshield is gimmicky but it also used to be useful still and is a cool mechanic imo. What is confusing for me is that in 4 the meatshield protects you from nades so why not in 5? If they’re gunna make it completely useless to where you can get shot and meleed thru it, they might as well just take it out

The victim is already a dead body when they become the meat shield with the exception of the leader in Capture the Leader which hasn’t been in a Gears game since 3 and needs to be. More fun than Guardian ever was.

In that mode a meatshield was necessary to buy some time as you fight off 2-4 attackers when you’re the leader, your entire team just got blasted, and you are waiting for them to respawn. It also worked just fine; It sponged up bullets until it didn’t and then you went down. You didn’t explode into chunks when the corpse you were holding outlived its usefulness.

They should give you the option to break free when the sire grabs you instead of just watching yourself get carried away to your death .

But you’re down and not dead yet when they grab you as a meat shield. If someone fires some rounds at you from the front then by all means you die, but if someone shoots at the perpetrator from the back you get to be revived.

I want to say you’re exaggerating per usual but after they openly admitted to making the melee the way it is on purpose I don’t think this comment is too far off :upside_down_face:

I think if someone meatshields us, be it another player or a sire, let us be able to switch to our grenade (if we have any) and detonate it, Frag we both die, flash/stun we get free but are both stunned.
