How can you remove Execution game type from Gears of War?

Maybe you wouldn’t have to watch others play if you played smart. That’s the point: people played smarter and were more skilled overall because of the single life aspect. It doesn’t really matter how stupid you play today because you’ll always end up getting rewarded with another life. Now this game is filled with nothing but bouncing morons who contribute nothing cause they wanna look “sick,” or full on idiots who don’t know how to play cause this game always rewards them with infinite lives.

If you think execution is boring then something like chess is boring. It’s not, it takes skill and at least some level of intelligence from the players. I’m sure this game would have survived this long if it wasn’t due to online which emphasized on skill. Who wants COD spinoffs? Oh wait, The Coalition. They see cod making so much money and god forbid they miss out on that cash grab opportunity.

Execution is what made gears 1…

Warzone was bad because once you’re down… you were out… you couldn’t stand up by tapping X… and you could be shot from far with a lancer.

Execution was very unique in that if a person was down, they had to be very close to shoot you, or beat you down. (Not kick you which locks you into the animation.) This allowed you to be picked up, and hide behind a wall.

Later Annex was released, which was fun… but Execution was the main came of Gears 1.

@Devil_D The problem is TC is trying to please everyone… trying to bring in a big market to the game… and look what is happening… the player base is dwindling more and more…

They need to look at Gears 1 code… and build off that. Bring in new improvements which are “next generation”, but don’t ruin the game play. In Gears 1… I never thought to myself “this gnasher sucks”… if I missed a shot, I missed a shot… Gears 5 current gnasher tuning is so weird, I don’t even know where to aim!

Execution required tons of skill, and power weapons were absolutely crucial to win the 3v1’s… etc.

Maybe f I cared for it I would bother ? Maybe if you could read I agreed to still bring it back ?
Just would not play it beyond what is needed for medals, just as Girdion.

Chess is interesting, watching Chess isn’t to me.
My point was that I see no reason why not have both ? Can’t be too resource intensive to add a mode back they already did have.
Not sure why this should be a one or the other thing.

They have all these dumb blood splatters and banners and weapon skins that are all stupid but they don’t have execution. And you ranked has 2 shotty only game types and tdm is a 2 person limit so you’re stuck with koth. I hate it. I hope they read this ■■■■.

The more ppl talking in this thread the more likely it is TC actually hears us for once.

Tell your friends to come say something if they want it back too.

It shouldn’t just be brought back in social either honestly, if they just throw it in a cycle of social games none of the talented players are gonna wanna just blow threw social gamer fodder. It’ll get boring quick.

They will have to put it in a competitive setting, and try and reward ppl for playing it Like they did gridiron. Which literally no one asked for.

In my opinion the competitive gears scene shifting from Execution to Escalation. Was the beginning of Gears losing its identity as a single life strategy based team shooter. Now we’re just seeing what I like to call “the call of duty effect”

Makes me feel old to say it but, a kid starting up gears today is not at all being offered the same experience in gears of war 1 I was offered as a kid, it’s not even an option they can choose at this point.
Sad to see the most original console shooter Forgetting how it got here.

No, sorry but that simply isn’t true. Execution rules lead to gnasher only fights not respawn modes.
It really can’t be debated.
If you can’t kill from afar, then you either needed the power weapons or to use the gnasher.

Game is can’t make top 50 on Xbox most played and is #498 on steam and can’t even crack 500 players at a time on the biggest pc store.
Along with game pass.
Along with being a showpiece for the new worlds most powerful console.
But
Execution being cut… Isn’t about population…

They are reworking the game mode…

I agree %100. I just hopped on for the first time for Operation 5 and I was so excited seeing the old and new characters and maps and then boom… “Where the **** is Gridiron?”

For the first time I am actually upset. I have put up with all the changes since launch and gave them the benefit of the doubt, but what the hell is this?
In Operation 4 my favorite game modes were Gridiron and 2v2 Gnashers because I personally don’t like the more hectic game modes that much.
They are alright and I will still play them, but why completely remove both now?

I’ve always came back to Gears but I’m gonna give it a break until they bring back some type of single elimination mode. It’s too much to deal with along side the 4v4 and movement nerf, I’ve never been this upset about Gears, but I am with this man when he says we were insulted.

Lol I just realized that Girdion isn’t even in the quick play anymore.
That means 2 more Medal sets are not finishable…did they ever give a reason for that removal ?
