It’s not making your point for you. Your point is that upgrades take away incentive to deposit energy. My point is, a lot of them wouldn’t anyways. Randos did a trash job with that in 4 as well. Randos play like crap, in all the games. There’s no reason to match with pugs with a lobby browser and LFG tool.
I disagree. With giving rando’s points (not power) once they put the power in the fabricator you have a built in incentive to put money in to the fabricator. They win with individual upgrades, and team wins by having power in the fabricator. .This teaches them that you get positive gains by winning the most power and helping the team.

I understand your point but it’s kinda pointless, the current system is a risk vs reward decision that needs to be made by the team, do you boost the base or yourselves.
If everyone was given upgrade points when they deposit, you solve your current problem but it’s not a gameplay element. You may just as well auto send all collected power to the fab and award upgrade points direct.
Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you, the current system needs looking at for sure, but it needs to be replaced by another gameplay element, another risk vs reward system a team need to decide on.
For instance maybe have the personal upgrade points be purchasable from the fab, but for the whole team so a lvl1 point could cost 5k power, the team need to deposit over 5k between them then decide to buy a point FOR EVERYONE or spend on defences, then obv each play can decide what to spend their point on.
I know that comes with it’s own issues but I think something like that could work better, not really thought it through tho as it’s early an I’m a zombie

I get where you’re coming from with the way public matches usually go.
I’d try xbox lives built in LFG service to see if you can hook up with like minded players and friend them or try the same with the lobby browser.
Wonderful. I totally agree and think a large number of the “Gearheads” would agree. To be honest we are probably not the majority though, especially now Gears is on Gamepass. I do think the drop off will be pretty drastic though and as ever only us hardcore will still be around when all the new shiny comes out.
We do have a unique game and should cherish that not abandon it in favour of fads

Same…I dont like the specific classes for characters…all I want to do is be JD for his lancer gl but cant. I loved being the heavy on gears 4…only thing I like about horde on gears 5 is that you can skip the waiting between waves and being able to drop in on any match. They shouldnt have given you individual perks now because honestly it makes me play more solo than anything

Well honestly all that they would have to do is bring the horde mode from 4 to 5 and call it Horde Classic. So then that way everyone who wants to play horde the new way is able to and everyone who wants to play horde the old way can.
