Did Judgment? I don’t remember one. The Aftermath chapter was already on the disc, was it not?
It seems to be unlocked without paying for it, that’s for sure, but it’s more like a Gears 3 story addition with some tie-ins to Js main story.
Yeah. But it wasn’t developed after or independently of the main game. So I wouldn’t count it.
Gears 1 had cut content restored on PC and eventually Ultimate.
Gears 2 had cut content added via DLC.
Gears 3 had RAAM’s Shadow.
Gears Judgment didn’t actually get anything.
Gears 4 didn’t get anything.
Gears 5 is getting Hivebusters.
So it’s not so much rare as kinda half and half?

And for those who are moaning about paying, Welcome to gaming! Either get games pass ultimate, a trial or pay up This is why they’re charging for it and not treating it like the operations content (which you get for NOTHING!) - they’re using content like this as a persuasion marketing tool for game pass and ultimate. Don’t like it, don’t play it. Quite frankly, nobody cares.!

Does the Aftermath campaign kinda count ?..originally it was supposed to be in gears 3 but was cut and placed in GoWJ to play?
Gonna play the crud out of this DLC so I can finish it quickly. Hopefully it isn’t a let down.
I don’t think Aftermath was ever “meant” to be in Gears 3. And it wasn’t added DLC. It’s a campaign extra but not something made after the fact, so I wouldn’t count it, personally.
Judgment itself was allegedly a cancelled Gears 3 dlc. That’s how they released so fast amd the base Gears 3 programming was a part of Judgment, buried under the new code. You could glitch yourselfinto an unwinnable and borderline unplayable version of Warzone (the win condition wouldn’t trigger iirc) That’s also why Aftermath plays so different tonally from Judgment. There was probably a cut like in Act 1 when you take control of Baird in Hanover. It was probably supposed to happen yet again when Cole and Baird go to get help when Marcus and co. leave for Mercy/Char to sneak onto Azura. Take this with a full mason jar of sodium chloride though.

By my knowledge, Judgment was always planned as a side game and never as a part of Gears 3. They used the Gears 3 code wholesale and Epic helped create it while simultaneously laying groundwork for the later cancelled Gears 4. The Aftermath DLC wasn’t a planned portion of Gears 3 as Paduk was completely unknown to Gears 3 players without Judgment; rather, it was simply made using the excess of Gears 3 resources with Epic’s help.
If you have something that says otherwise, though, I’d love to read it.
That game was my jam. I still have the base game for 360. I think they added one of the factions from the expansion to it. Really awesome port…to get an RTS onto console and have it function good. (Although fps isses were pressent when there were a lot of units on screen, but it was still an amazing game. And a fun what if scenario on the evil side. )

Well depends on how you look at it. Gears 1 and 2 got content that was originally scrapped due to time constrains. When you think of actual ‘real’ new content, it’s just RAAM and the Hivebusters. Personally, I consider the latter to be actual DLC’s.
Dlc is reviewing very well 
I would be more than happy to wait for Gears 6 until 2023 if we continue to get operations and 3+ hour vignettes every 4 months or so.

I’ve watched the early release videos and it’s looking to be a bit over 2 hours. I’d love to be wrong tho.
Oh well at least we got something. 2 hours if fun beats 3,4 hours of bloat
