Hivebuster DLC Teaser

I think we might be up for a disappointment here, as there’s no news of the inclusion of a new character with the DLC. I can imagine that they want to keep it a bit of a secret, but it’s possible that Hana is not included in the DLC as a playable character for other modes. That doesn’t mean she won’t be introduced, I’m confident she will. But it’s possible she’ll be included at a later stage via the store.

If this trailer came out earlier I would’ve had that parrot for thanksgiving

Yup. It’s all digital. All DLC is.

The only thing that wasn’t as far as I can remember is Halo:ODST. The box had the campaign and firefight, akd a second physical disc with Halo 3’s multiplayer- and only the multiplayer. It was completely standalone and I thought at the time that other studios should follow suit and release their games multiplayer by itself. Then the Black Ops fiasco happened and the studio charged full price for it on 360 despite Xbox One having the campaign.

Well it is downloadable content. How do you download physical

To be fair, I was originally going to say that the answer is in the acronym “DLC” - it stands for “downloadable content”, but didn’t want to come across as snarky, and being British I have to make an extra effort NOT to come across as snarky because the British are renowned for being snarky.

But then I thought more about it, and it occurred to me that sometimes DLC expansions become available on disc through things like, Game Of The Year editions etc. So there are some exceptions to the rule. I think calling these things “expansions” would be more accurate, but alot of developers and gamers seem to like the term “DLC”.

Well first I’m german so we are the aholes of the world anyways lol.
But yeah agreed, how the industry can’t even keep to their own language is quite funny or sad, depends how you see it.

I am against the word expansions though, expansion back in my youth meant real additions, nearly as worthy and big as the full game.
DLC’s are usually at best a shallow echo.
And thus we are back at part one, 20$ for this dlc heh

This was what I call an expansion pass.

I believe it had two campaigns from both sides in the war as well.

Lol at the price currently, but this type of content was par for the course. I’m not sure what the retail price was but. …

Just to add to the discussion, all discs do nowadays is act as proof that you own the game. You still have to download entire games whether you have the disc or not. So I guess technically DLC could be released on to discs.

Hahaha

What is “physical copy”!?
Yup… PC player here. :innocent:

For anybody talking about DLC onto discs Microsoft has to pay Sony for every Bluray disc made for XB1 games, so another reason why they don’t like physical media is because it helps their competitor.

That’s only for backwards compatible games, and certain outliers like Destiny 2, which replaced the core game entirely this year. BC games technically aren’t running the disc, but rather, an updated version provided by Microsoft to run on newer hardware.

Any other games still install from the disc, but then you probably have a bunch of updates or DLC to download so the game is up to date. Games with constant updates and a heavy emphasis on multiplayer don’t gain anything by being a physical copy these days, really.

Gears 5 “Game of the Year” edition…

Haahahahahahaaaaa xD

I wouldn’t say rare, Gears 1 and 4 are the only ones out of all the whole series without a campaign DLC.

Technically…PC of Gears 1 had the cut content from Act V that was added back in…and unless you played it there you didnt get it until they made UE.

Will it reveal the fate of JD and Del!?
Or will it about rescuing Kait so revealing that the last part of the Campaign was just a nightmare and both Del and JD are alive!?
And Lizzie and Oscar and Jack also alive and well!?
