Hivebuster DLC Teaser

Love this teaser, especially seeing Hoffman,Who’s the new Character in the Raven?

It looks like Hana Cole - Cole’s daughter who is a COG scientist who invented the venom used by the hivebusters on their missions. Hard to tell for sure, but it looks a bit like how she’s depicted in the comics. Apparently Hana was originally supposed to appear in the main GOW5 campaign but the idea was scrapped.

Thanks my friend,For the info, crossing fingers nothing happens to her

From the trailer, there’s a brief bit that shows her getting captured by a Snatcher. I’m guessing part of the mission is to rescue her as well.

That said, the scene at the very end shows the three of them at night, wearing their default Hivebuster armour, and Lahni saying “see you on the other side” - I wonder if the DLC campaign is split into three main sections. I have a feeling that the first depicts them surviving after the Condor is attacked by the Flock. They then meet with Hoffman in a cutscene. The second is their mission with Hana to a hive and which ends in Hana getting captured. The third and last part is of them tracking Hana and rescuing her, and this bit ends with the last scene in the trailer of them allowing Snatchers to take them into the same hive that Hana is being held.

Hana Cole/Hoffman pretty much confirmed :fist:

You get to use Escape/Horde abilities in the DLC :fire:

and that bird though :sweat_drops:

Already looking pretty hype in terms of content/features, question is if the story will be good.

Yeeeeeasssssssss!

Inconceivable run?! :joy:

Well I don’t think you’ll have Jack in the DLC so it won’t be as easy as you might anticipate, but still pretty dope. It’ll be like Gears 5 but without the terrible characters and dragged out story.

What i wonder is if skill cards will be usable, or if they are any upgrades available during the run.

I mean, we’ll know in a week. I’m not going to worry about it too much.

First we had doggies (pouncers) now we have birdies, Gears is an animals lovers dream.

Anyways I will 100% play it with you if you on, Campaign DLC is a rare treat in Gears.

I love how Mac is flipping birds as he is being swallowed by a snatcher

Coles daughter from the comics omg. And a new enemy and somehow TC got Hoffman’s voice actor back. And onyx guard Keegan. I’m legitimately hyped for the first time since the game was announced haha

Yo this looks slick! Part of me is hoping that bird monster gets added to Horde as a boss, maybe a Swarm variant of a Kestrel? Next Tuesday is looking good. :ok_hand:

Certainly something to be excited about. Campaign will probably be more buggy than an old box of fruit.

Not particularly excited about big bird.

Somehow not striking me as Gears like.

Always good to see Hoffman.

I’m loving it, totally hyped now. Good to also see a new character introduction with Hana. I wasn’t expecting her to join the Hivebusters, but I am looking forward to it. The only thing I’m less cool with is the use of abilities in campaign, that should have been limited to Escape and Horde.

The birdosaurus looks awesome, I can’t wait to see its abilities.
Oh, and for those who would be concerned: if you play the map Pahanu, you can see all sorts of (remains of) creatures that aren’t part of the Locust/Swarm. This new boss might be one of them.

Are we not gonna talk about that huge ribcage just outside the map boundaries by one of the spawn points? Whatever species that is from, sure hope it’s long gone. Definitely seems too big for a Horde boss though.

Indeed, definitely too big. It might have been that bird, but that would be fairly impressive considering the size of the animal that it supposedly would have killed. But we’ll learn soon enough.

It’d be hilarious, ridiculous and slightly terrifying at the same time if the bird thing was chasing you around and then an even more massive creature comes along and just kills it off with ease before moving along.

I really do hope they make it something of a dynamic predator on the island that attacks both Swarm and humans equally and indiscriminately, while you go around, if it was only present in scripted sequences it’d seem a bit meh.

Somehow your first sentence reminds me of Qui-gon’s “There’s always a bigger fish” comment. Sorry, it made me giggle a bit. I know it’s a sin.

I completely agree with you, a predator that attacks both people and Swarm. It would be really cool if it were to be similar to Alien: Isolation, where the Alien isn’t scripted and can pop up anywhere. That is a really cool feature of the game that constantly keeps you on your nerves. But I doubt we’ll ever get to see something like that in Gears.
