Makes me wonder, when this 2XP Escape weekend was planned last month (and then cancelled) was it also reliant on having Boost? I don’t remember them mentioning it, if so.
Or was this just a new, last second idea as a way to further milk us?

Played 1 escape and noticed that I did not get any 2 xp so I stopped playing. It was trickery.

I knew something was up. Played a few games yesterday and was still getting 400-1200xp per game (depending on the difficulty and number of times I died)

I’m not quite sure how they thought they would be able to avoid a serious backlash from what’s left of their rapidly diminishing player base.
Unless something drastically changes with their business model then there won’t be a Gears 6. They are killing the franchise by alienating one of the most dedicated fan bases in the gaming community.

Alright listen gears 5 maps free and so are the characters but everything docs you can pretty much get as long as you play the game. TC need to make money for resources to make the game. I’m tired of gears fans complaint that’s all people have done since gow1. Man up and grind the game. Yeah so what that’s pay to lvl up faster but who cares it’s ur level it doesn’t mean anything. TC is trying hard this is the first gears game where you don’t have to pay for anything.

Didn’t play gears4 then? Maps were also free for everyone, which yes is a great thing, i personally care not for overall xp and player level, and I totally support MTX as a way of supporting games I love getting future content/sequels
But THIS isn’t THAT to me, it’s all about the stars for challenges, I’ve been ‘grinding’ the game every minute of my available play time since launch EVERY DAY, and it’s still not enough. I would probably need to buy boosts or pay to reroll challenges to hit General for that part of the achievement, and I find that particular element of it all VERY distasteful

Yeah I thought this was a shady move by TC and Microsoft.
Although on the flip side if you tend to buy boost on a weekend which I’m sure people do then you will get more value for your buck.
Instead of having boost would it be better to just buy XP / scrap/ stars ? Say £5 for 20000 XP, or £5 for 20000 scrap, £5 for 100 stars?
