Alright listen gears 5 maps free and so are the characters but everything docs you can pretty much get as long as you play the game. TC need to make money for resources to make the game. I’m tired of gears fans complaint that’s all people have done since gow1. Man up and grind the game. Yeah so what that’s pay to lvl up faster but who cares it’s ur level it doesn’t mean anything. TC is trying hard this is the first gears game where you don’t have to pay for anything.

Didn’t play gears4 then? Maps were also free for everyone, which yes is a great thing, i personally care not for overall xp and player level, and I totally support MTX as a way of supporting games I love getting future content/sequels
But THIS isn’t THAT to me, it’s all about the stars for challenges, I’ve been ‘grinding’ the game every minute of my available play time since launch EVERY DAY, and it’s still not enough. I would probably need to buy boosts or pay to reroll challenges to hit General for that part of the achievement, and I find that particular element of it all VERY distasteful

Yeah I thought this was a shady move by TC and Microsoft.
Although on the flip side if you tend to buy boost on a weekend which I’m sure people do then you will get more value for your buck.
Instead of having boost would it be better to just buy XP / scrap/ stars ? Say £5 for 20000 XP, or £5 for 20000 scrap, £5 for 100 stars?

Paying to advance in games you’ve payed to play is asinine, play the friggen game
The problem here is timed experiences, if I bought this game in 5years time I should have access to ALL the ToD challenges, all the rewards, all the achievements, ALL THE GAME to play at my own pace PERIOD

If they want so sell ‘boosts’ remove the artificial timer and leave all the ToD challenges accessible forever, no timegating, only then will they actually be ‘boosts’, something to speed something up, as they stand they’re there for those running out of an artificial timer and nothing more, this feel manipulative and as such has no place in video games

Let’s not forget this event was originally planned for when nearly everyone had boost and was cancelled last minute. Like I said, they should have given everyone boost because it was their fault the event didn’t occur when most people had boost, but of course they won’t because it won’t make them money.

I’m not familiar with micro transactions and the like, but how do Destiny and Warframe do these types of double xp events ?
Fact is you should not have to pay money to participate in Events in a triple A $60 game! Fortnite is why cheaper for 100 items! I hate to compare to a free game. But they act like it’s not a $60 game! They have lost they mind.

There isn’t other then Gears 5! It’s a complete scam to the players! Make them pay money to participate in Any Gears event’s!
They will change it. But its the point they are trying to screw there customers over!
If they needed money they should have just gave us a regular season pass like they have before. But the reason why they didn’t I think it’s because they don’t have no Maps! They said it takes 6 months to make a new map are bring one back from the past! That’s all facts from there mouth.

The term boost is too vague to use it as a naming convention for an in-game product.
I, like many, glossed over the second capitalization of the word Boost which was the ONLY F***ING HINT that they meant for players to purchase a Booster pack for it to work.
Could be an intentional lack of transparency in advertising. Live and learn.
Too much bs in this game now. It’s definitely a free to play monetization scheme game.
I used to be able to get the 60,000 XP nonproblem, now it’s taking ages just to get enough to unlock one character. It’s on purpose to make people pay for them instead of grind.
Shameful tactics. I’m thinking I can’t support the coalition anymore
