Hi TC this is the Horde Community speaking

You don’t need to read a single post in this thread… But then apparently you feel the need to make 9 replies out of the 40 so far on the subject, and the longest reply entirely!

For someone who thinks the original post in this thread is pointless, to then go on and become the biggest contributor to replies in the thread… Contradict yourself much?!

TC have not done a good job with horde at all, they have nearly killed the horde mode! I uninstalled Gears 5 on Christmas day as it is a big pile of ■■■■. The game is full of bugs, some of which have been there since release day nearly 5 months ago!

I’ve been wondering what this stands for for some time now. You always throw the term around in the same context so it gives me an idea of who or what it refers to but as I’m otherwise not familiar with it nor using it, I don’t have any idea what it stands for. Only that it’s not positive.

And isn’t trying to discourage TC from the forums counterproductive, at the very least to trying to forward your own ideas to them?

And as a fyi, I feel like I’m just done taking issue with the hero system. I knew it wouldn’t be going away from the start so I’m just hoping TC have learnt their lesson about it for Gears 6, however they choose to go about it. Everybody knows JD is OP and not going anywhere soon anyway so whatever. Just going to try avoiding the character as much as is possible. I never took issue with Kait cause you do need a touch of skill to make that damage potential work, particularly on higher difficulties. My main gripe would be that she’s close range focused which isn’t my favorite way of playing, but well, that’s not a matter of balancing…

Oh, and what exactly is wrong about disliking that there is OP classes and glitches/exploits that basically allow bad players to complete the highest difficulty with complete ease and wanting them changed? It only encourages players to never learn how to get better and play properly.

How to make HORDE Great again:

Still gives me goosebumps to watch these vids. 2.0 was (is) just so feckin good.

As for the travisty that is 4.0 I think we will need to wait until 5.0 and just prey and hope TC listen enough or care enough to make Horde great again AKA The KING of co-op.

5 quick things I feel would help Horde in Gears 5:
1: Scrap Hero system
2:More enemy variety, I will say yet again bring all Locust/Lambent into Horde.
3: Shorter varient (25 waves)
4: Mutators, fun ones like in 3.
5: Any character can buy and build, just like in previous Horde

Read this back to yourself…and realise why gears 1 2 and 3 were real communities!! …if you have no interest in horde…why comment?..the guy has clearly given this some thought …before posting…the horde community on 5 is small…its because peeps
have gone back to 2 3 and 4 …perhaps you should focus on pvp…cause it aint going well on that front either.

Dude enough… were looong past that. Thanks for nothing though. I had 0 issues with his post, i just didnt like the way the title was at first n his well thought out reply made me realize i was wrong in how it was presented… i think it could be better worded still, but its no real issue. His mentality is fantastic, and encouraging. Theres no issue with the post.

So ■■■■ off

I love horde (not as much 5) but im here to support any and all great ideas and thhere are tons in here… stay on topic now plz

Personally for me in horde, i dislike the idea of the same enemy style having numerous varients but wprse versions of or the descrepincy between the units being at such a level it is.

What i mean is. Leeches n juvies basically are the exact same thing, but one is faaar superior. (Leeches of course). Either make them more similar for me personally like juvies and wretches can be switched to keep things fresh imo. ( juvies r smaller but the ai can be changed to very similar) or make things like leeches for later waves in horde cause of how good they are compared to juvies…

This is just a small thing i feel personally, but wanted to try n not reiterate on the same things over n over. Like saying i dont like the hero ascept… we all have done it basically, they get the idea. So i wanted to bring something up thats a lottle different. Thoughts? Id love to see leeches on higher difficulties or later waves, n maybe juvies n wretches switched oit for each other to add vareity.

lol

I want Horde to have multiple viable strategies. Even at the highest difficulties.

In Gears 4, you could have different class combinations, and succeed on Inconceivable. Double snipers, triple heavies. Turrets, sentries, salvos.

This is not seen in Gears 5, partly down to the no duplicate heroes rule, and partly down to certain characters just not being viable. Marcus and Fahz, for example.

In Gears 5,you ‘need’ a Del/Baird and a JD, most will argue you need a Jack and a Kait. The only real difference in strategies is what 5th you want. Lizzie (pre-Tu4), Keegan and COG Gear have an argument.

And yes, in Gears 4 you could argue you needed a Scout and an Engineer. But the effect is bigger in Gears 5 because only the Engineer can upgrade fortifications.

But that’s only 2 characters compared to 4 in Gears 5.

I would also support more varied enemies and different enemy types showing in waves. Peace makers and leeches, for example. But I imagine this point will already have been made.

I don’t like the Hero system but I can also see it’s not going anywhere. Not in the current version anyway.
I’d like a classic horde 1.0 /2.0 varient with no fabricator, no classes ans simple basses if any.

For the current Horde I’d like to be able to customize the ai soldiers, either just skins, or give them staring load-outs, or even give them classes. Would be useful if a Kait player drops out a Kait ai spawns with the load-out. Even if its just cosmetic it might help when i see ai go down and have no idea with one or where.

And yes, allow us to rank up the cards we use by getting xp while having them equipped instead of this RNG s****t

Are you taking issue with something I said in one of those two quotes shakes?

There’s no contradiction. I didn’t complain, or tell them to walk back design decisions. It’s all additions on top…

go through my bullet list, isolate a single change that walks back a design decision please.

I think you are spot on with the current version not changing. I wonder if we will be allowed to “dictate” Horde 5.0, unlikely I know but if the majority of your fan base was to revert to the older versions, surely it would be folly to ignore them ?

As for your idea re ai, again totally agree and an excellent idea, especially the replacing like for like.

Oh Yeah!

I changed my mind, but look at the replies. I was right. Same old complaints about the same old things that they are not going to change, because there are good reasons for them being the way they are.

There’s a strong horde community playing horde the way it is, and I decided to be productive. You’ve never changed your mind man?

QQ means complaining about something in a basic since, but it’s more akin to complaining about something that doesn’t need fixing because there’s a reason for it.

Interesting, I see it as the opposite man. Juvies are way stronger imo.

The fact that they are there to help people do speedruns if they wish.

You would think people would be happy that theres so much play variance, but I guess they just don’t want anyone to have nice things, and people refuse to host lobbies where they don’t bring these things for a challenge, so idk man. You don’t think its a good thing that someone can get home from work each day, speed through a master horde with the strong guys (Which btw no, any noob cannot just do that, it does take some knowledge and skill even on jd, I don’t like this characterization)- or, they can challenge themselves to a long drawn out game without the speedrun guys. It’s a good thing to have this variance.

People will always use the strongest thing, if you start nerfing you will never stop.

No you just think it its small mate. Tons of people playing it.

It does mate.

Demonstrably untrue. Master can be beaten with any team setup. There is no team of 5 I can’t take into master and beat it with, because it comes down to the fact that it’s master. You need a certain level of skill/knowledge to operate effectively there unless you want to rely on the meta.

No. The majority of the complainers on the forums want that, theres thousands of people happily playing this horde mode.

More interesting and varied passive skills.
More balanced cards across all characters.
Fix the custom lobby system.
Fix the 30 second freezes that keep happening since last week.
More maps, with different colours (tired of the greys and oranges)
More enemy types

This mode has SO much potential with the hero system but it’s squandered by lackluster abilities and 50% of the roster being ineffective.

I disagree whook. You just haven’t learned how to use the ones you think are inneffective imo.

You have a valid argument for grace, and lahni in current form, and that’s about it. The rest are really just fine. Honest opinion man

No disrespect wolfpup but you disagree with nearly everything on these forums.

I’m fine with you disagreeing but I have a problem with how you go about it.

Feel free to message me, and we can have a conversation on that then mate

Again, no disrespect, but I’m not here to have D&M’s with randoms on the internet.

I’ve said what I wanted, so good luck to you.

Well no one is perfect man. I try to be constructive and productive, and I fall short sometimes.

As a gamer I can think of a ton of things that would improve the game play. However I am not a programmer so I have no idea how difficult or how much time it would take to make these changes.

I’m just curious, what changes do you think that people are needlessly complaining about that TC won’t change or doesn’t need to be changed?

Because in their stream they actually did address some things that many are complaining about here and elsewhere.
