they might, they do read the forums contrary to popular belief.
I just don’t like ideas that upset the current balance of horde 4.0 too much. I quite like what they have created, and don’t want the spirit of it to change much personally.

You are in favor of a highly customizable arcade mode though. Perhaps the sentries and taps ideas belong there.
If you think anything I’ve suggested would upset horde then you can’t have much faith in TC being able to balance their game.
I do have faith in them, but some ideas would here would definitely disrupt incentives and balances currently in the core horde in my opinion. Just giving my impressions here man. They’re gonna do what they think is a good idea in the end, and I’ll have to deal with it and play it like anyone else.
What’s people’s opinions on horde specific maps ?
Ffa got is own maps as did 2v2 .
I prefer that large maps of gears 3 or gears 2 dlc maps.
I’d like maps that are made for horde and look like a war is going on. Hard to feel like I’m in a battle on district unfortunately.
I think they should stick with making maps playable for Horde and PVP like in the past.
I think their biggest issue is not having map designers as good as those from the EPIC days.
Maps were never a issue until TC took over. Same thing with Halo and Halo 5, though Halo 4 had some pretty good maps.
You might be right. I feel the art design is too bland for my liking atm in 5.
And make stuff bigger. Not so many symmetrical boxes. The old maps felt more organic and I wanted to spend more time there but yeah splitting horde and versus could be problematic
Opps, I did a stealth edit right before your reply.
Even when I make fun crazy suggestions you find some technical reason why it won’t work so well done you ruined my fun.
I want them to fix the lobbies so I can actually play the game.
I’m sure I like horde just as much as you my friend but my time is more valuable than trying to join games for 3 hours. If this particular problem persists then it just isn’t worth bothering anymore.
Hi noble…2 n 3 we’re for me spot on…5 players go in with the same loadout of weapons…difficulty wise simple…casual/normal/hardcore/insane…as players progressed in both personal skills ect…the oppurtunity would be there to try harder difficulties…but by no means do either of these give you an easy ride on top difficulty…Gears 4…ok im not a big fan…but…you could choose any character n play any class with…all the class cards weren’t a million miles apart…you could 5x soldier ect…unfortunatley the engineer would dominate with sentries…so unless playing private …pubs was a waste of time…4 is where the mode was being turned imo…Gears 5…apart the game being broken…heroes? Simply no…a convuluted mess of both character and difficulties…power taps n forge/perks…why?..playing as a jack …stifle yawn…the imbalance in character loadouts n weapons…really!!..there are no horde maps in the original 7 to my mind…again poor…so noble my outlining thought is this…gears 5 should have been like 4s with the classes…sub boss wvs added…ie wardens ect…let peeps have character choice…put any new weapons into the fabricator…its called choice…creates fun!!..this reply is out of respect of @Noble_Guardian mentioning me…but hu1k and bchaps would go much deeper i guess…this is just my opinion…im not going into any debates about it…simply cause 5 doesn’t cut it for me personally😁edit…gears 4…did have the 25wv horde …and also monster mash (no robot enemies)…made 4 a little more palatable for some.
Well hey, man, I’m sorry. I was definitely not trying to ruin anyone’s fun.
I thought we we’re having a great discussion.
Like I said, I think the lobby fix is good, I made that suggest to ryan on my own before this thread existed, I wasn’t trying to shoot it down- I just don’t know if it is even possible to fix…
Anyways, sorry, I guess I’ll stop giving my opinions if I’m raining on someones parade with them, wasn’t my intention bro.
These are pretty much the issues a lot of people have. Myself included. I think the hero system is fine but everything else you said is spot on in my eyes.
Yes everything is very convoluted. I will be trying Keegan tonight as reading up on him he seems more of the type of character style I play.
If that fails I will probably be putting Gears of War 5 away for a while. Give them a chance to make some changes and see how I like it in then.
Yea, it seems we fundamentally disagree on a key factor, many of you and myself.
I love that it is convoluted. It leans into extremely tall skill ladders.
If you want to just load up n play, you can, if you want to dive into the rich technical aspects as I love to do, you can.
Different strokes I guess. I’m just going to withhold my opinions on others opinions from now on, I can see I’m not convincing anyone.
I just notice you reply a lot on these forums and most of the time it’s to tell people they’re wrong in some way. You seem polite enough, but I don’t really find your “discussion” technique very wholesome I guess.
No, I literally cannot do that right now. That is the issue.
Thank you man for your valuable input
Cheers,
I understand that there’s a much richer experience on the whole if you take your time to understand it and put in the work, but therein lies the issue.
I think horde was fundamentally created to be a way to just play a simple game mode with waves of enemies coming against you.
I appreciate the spin and depth TC has taken it to but I don’t think people have the time to appreciate it or want to.
So basically I think the best thing they could do for horde is make a classic or arcade mode like we’ve said. I think most people can agree on that
Fair enough, I’ve been told my opinions are too strong, and I accept that criticism.
I simply wanted to try to enlighten some people as to what is under the convolution, but I guess that’s a lost cause in many respects.
Not trying to be condescending, but why not?
I appreciate that you took the time to see my perspective of appreciation for it, thanks for that, really. I guess you’re right, most people do want a simple jump in and play experience, not an entire mmorpg they have to learn.
I hope the direction they take in 6 is more digestible for the people who want that, really. I’m just enjoying the autism-level technical depth of this one while I can man
