Hi TC this is the Horde Community speaking

Yea, it seems we fundamentally disagree on a key factor, many of you and myself.

I love that it is convoluted. It leans into extremely tall skill ladders.

If you want to just load up n play, you can, if you want to dive into the rich technical aspects as I love to do, you can.

Different strokes I guess. I’m just going to withhold my opinions on others opinions from now on, I can see I’m not convincing anyone.

I just notice you reply a lot on these forums and most of the time it’s to tell people they’re wrong in some way. You seem polite enough, but I don’t really find your “discussion” technique very wholesome I guess.

No, I literally cannot do that right now. That is the issue.

Thank you man for your valuable input

Cheers,

I understand that there’s a much richer experience on the whole if you take your time to understand it and put in the work, but therein lies the issue.
I think horde was fundamentally created to be a way to just play a simple game mode with waves of enemies coming against you.
I appreciate the spin and depth TC has taken it to but I don’t think people have the time to appreciate it or want to.
So basically I think the best thing they could do for horde is make a classic or arcade mode like we’ve said. I think most people can agree on that

Fair enough, I’ve been told my opinions are too strong, and I accept that criticism.

I simply wanted to try to enlighten some people as to what is under the convolution, but I guess that’s a lost cause in many respects.

Not trying to be condescending, but why not?

I appreciate that you took the time to see my perspective of appreciation for it, thanks for that, really. I guess you’re right, most people do want a simple jump in and play experience, not an entire mmorpg they have to learn.

I hope the direction they take in 6 is more digestible for the people who want that, really. I’m just enjoying the autism-level technical depth of this one while I can man

Because it won’t allow me to host my own game, There’s 12 pages of lobbies but each one says “not enough room for your squad” or some other message about reaching out to technical support or somesuch. This is compounded by the fact that half the time it freezes for 20-30 seconds before giving me those messages.

It’s been like this since the start, but it’s been much worse since last weeks update.

Me too to a certain extent, but unfortunately I cannot find enough time to find the best playstyles for each character let alone a good team of players that can work together.
Having said that I do enjoy horde 4.0 much more than I thought I would at launch and do appreciate the complexity that’s added each time a new hero is introduced.
Hopefully TC read and can continue to improve and make everyone happy, as more players on the game is good for everyone

Agreed. I find it so hard to find a squad in horde or escape so end up soloing or duo with my other half.
Unfortunately horde isn’t created for 1 or 2 players so ruins the experience.
Lobby browser definitely needs a look at

Are you playing on xbox or pc?

On xbox you can use the club board to make a post for players, and then one of them can host/invite you, maybe that will work for you?

Yea, I suppose I’m expecting too much for the general playerbase to decipher the convolution of the mode as is.

At any rate, at least we have made a productive show of the varying opinions/perspectives towards the mode here, and I agree that an alternate mode is the best way forward for a simpler experience for those that want it.

I use to have a similar issue but for me, it seems to have gotten better in the last couple of weeks. But obviously it’s still a issue.

I’ll refer back to something you said previously, you said something along the lines of
“The characters aren’t useless, you just don’t know how to use them”

The problem here is, I don’t want to use them… more than half of them just aren’t fun to use. Yeah I probably could use them on a master run but why would I want to? I can handle depth and blah blah, I’m not some kind of moron who just wants marcus holding and lancer and shooty bang bang. I just want all the characters to be fun to play. Which is why I keep saying make the passives more interesting Like an mmorpg and balance the cards better.

I just keep coming back to the same point about this, the hero system has SO much potential for horde. They just have to lean harder into those ideas.

Yea, maybe they’re just spread too thin to do everything they need to, who knows…

“The problem here is, I don’t want to use them…”

Yeah this has been one of the main complaints about the “Hero” system.

I still play Horde in Gears of War 2 for that reason.

Plus the maps are waaayyyy better.

As far as characters go, I Love Baird but I guess I’ll never use him because I’ll never play as Engineer.

That’s a problem for many people.

Other games with a Hero system started out that way. They didn’t add it 3+ games into the series and saw like it or leave it.

Have you considered just trying it?

I know you don’t want to, but hear me out.

I hated del the first month of the game, so I just didn’t play him.

I finally pushed through that, and just did it, and I had a blast after a few matches.

Maybe you guys would enjoy the characters you don’t want to try if you just did?

I don’t mean to be an a hole, but I feel like this is such a spoiled mentality that’s preventing you/others from having fun you could have.
