Halloween Content Paywall

Mayby if the cinema has good audio quality , good and comfort seats, a good tread by employees, good quality at the image and not overpriced combos that not triplicate the entrance I don’t mind to spend some dollars at snacks or popcorns.

That’s what Gears 5 has lack of…a good quality (not content)
That makes me want to spend my money on snacks.

Because they released an unfinished product at the price of one retail game.

You have to understand that the esports supporter packs on Gears 4 actually contained good skins. What we have at the moment is not, so I feel the same way. So it’s not a bridge too far to directly buy the content we want, it’s that none of the content we want has come out yet in the store.

I wish I never dropped the kind of money I did on esports but it was premium content. Gears 5 is asking you to pay premium content money for ■■■■ they gave for free on credit packs. That is my main issue.

I never minded paying for something I wanted but it’s extremely OD the way they made this system.

I had a boat load of skins in gears 4 I acquired free with credit and never bothered to use but still I had them and can use them whenever I wanted.

I will say I would never pay for it. I do not pay even on free to play games. I can get the full experience of the game without buying some random outfit that adds nothing.

On a full price game I can see the upset. But you get the full experience of the game. They sell these things as extra. It sure as hell is not changing the game. You either enjoy it or not. Game is good and fun or not. Sometimes amazing to see people that have purchased a game say they quit because some cosmetic item was for sale and not earnable and it made the game not worth playing.

I mean, lets be real here…out of all the Live Service games, how many have actually had extended periods of support time after launch? Considering older games had about the same, and in some cases more, post launch support…the concept that MTXs in games pay for things like content or upkeep is just not true.

Here’s an idea:

Considering they’re taking deals from Terminator to promote the movie, why not use all of that money to fund content and continued support?

It doesn’t work like that you’re shifting the argument.

You babies are arguing “BuT I PAid $60 iT aLl sHOUld bE FReE!”

If you’re gonna say you shouldn’t have to pay for additional content keep that same energy. It doesn’t matter if it’s great content or crappy content if you paid admission everything else should be free right good or bad?

Ah, I see you’ve had your morning coffee and cocoa puffs. Atta boy, go get em champ.

It really wasn’t. Dodgeball and Guardian in Co-op vs AI were done fast. Not sure if you did these.

Realistically, you took his quote a little out of context there, because he was saying that from the perspective of having previously been a collecter who now regrets it. Obviously people are free to do whatever with their money, but collecting skins in a video game is certainly going to be something that many people regret when they look back at the amount of money they spent.

This game is ■■■■■■■■.

your full of it, you know that right?, There used to be a time where we would pay for the map packs, and to be honest that was a lot better then what they are doing now, also quality content, Also by the way with all the money they made off of gears 4, we could of atleast expected a no bug free game, instead this ■■■■ is a buggy mess, Stop being a shill

Lmao that kid is the funniest dude ever, what a sad sack of manure, everytime he talks it’s either “you babies are crying over” or “You’ll be back”. It’s as pathetic as his arguements

The argument of “what a person does with their money isn’t up to you to decide” irks me to see when it comes to mtx. I’ll start by saying that if a person wants to pay $ for a skin that is by all means their decision to do so…but it absolutely has a effect on those who don’t buy skins from the store which is why they are complaining. And the portion of the community not buying mtx is almost always a larger portion of the community…especially the higher price these mtx get.

Say 5% of the population buy $8 skins and $5 customizations every time they come out. This continues to fund the current business model of overpriced individual skins in an already $60 base price game because that 5% of players paying through the nose will net the business more money than if they were to release dlc with a $40 price tag that say 60% of the population will buy.

This leaves the 95% who don’t want to pay $5+ for a single cosmetic item out in the wind because now it gives the business more incentive to keep selling these items instead of making them unlockable for all aside from a few things here or there.

This is why you don’t see expansions like Raam’s Shadow in games often these days…It just won’t rake in the cash like these single item transactions will. Just look at Rockstar Games with GTAV and RDR2. Both are making bank on their online components and those keep getting content added but only to the online modes. A GTAV story expansion is never going to happen now, and RDR2 devs already stated that Undead Nightmare 2 is very unlikely to happen. All because it is cheaper to create a bunch of cosmetics than it is to create a new story, bring back in voice actors, motion capture, etc.

I think (and this is just my personal opinion here y’all, please dont crucify me lol) that people are “upset” and “complaining” about the mtx in 5 because we went from 4 having a way to absolitely E A R N all content, I don’t remember paying anything at all except the preorder price… Sure lootboxes were a pain and the duplicates kinda sucked, but you could scrap them and use it to create what you wanted, if available to create, if not oh well, 1-50 horde on insane or inconceivable got you at lesst 1-2 elite packs per full run, I had a blast unlocking almost every CoG and Swarm skin, and weapon skin. But in 5 they took that away from everyone. You either grind out out generic crap that’s already in game and should be unlocked via beating campaign acts, i.e, artic Kait unlocks after beating act 2, or beating it on insane or leveling up like in Gears 3. Or you buy it in the store, no choice to earn it, on a time limit of either 24hrs, or 1 week. So anything remotely nicer than generic already in game skins, you have to pay $5-10 for in a limited time. That disagrees with me and a lot of people. Should everything be free…hell no, TC needs to pay its employees and get funding for the next game somehow. But…should we be FORCED to spend a single dime, HELL NO! Everything in the store should also be 100% earnable in someway, shape or form, even an insane grind if TC feels froggy. Anyway that’s my thoughts, don’t worry y’all dont have to pay lol.

you wouldn’t be giving money to TC anyway, everything you buy goes to MS.

if you want to vote with your wallet cancel your Game Pass sub

Stop! In the name of love

IMO it’s the price of the content and the quality

The great looking skins are behind a paywall and the lower quality stuff is free. I said this prior to launch and seen it from a mile away.

nothing in the store should ever cost more than $5

  • $1-$2 for a character skin
  • 50c for a weapon/banner/spray/mark
  • $2 for a full weapon set
  • $5 for a bundle of stuff (weapons set,character skin, spray/banner. etc)

if I can go to PSN/XBL/Steam storefront and buy a full game for $10-$15 or hit up the Gears 5 store and barely get two character skins your MTX strategy is pathetic.

If people want to buy cosmetics than more power to them because they’re getting me free post launch content that I would have otherwise had to pay for.

Optional cosmetics microtransactions are more consumer friendly than the season pass/dlc map packs model, in my opinion.
Instead of having to dump $30 or $40 more into a season pass I get that content for free.

Content like Raams shadow are nice to play through once or twice but it doesn’t add anything to the game long term so I don’t see it as a worthy investment.
