Yeah, for real. Just ignore those negative insult tossers. It’s not worth the endless back n forth. You can make 50 valid points and they’ll just keep coming back with empty insults/comparisons instead of addressing valid points/arguments.

Oh, there is some positive things around. Store is working, commercials are working. What more do you want?

I’m not full of it. I just have more than half a brain and a different opinion. I’ve already explained why buying map packs is much worse than buying optional cosmetics, so scroll up and read my guy.

Wait it’s eight dollars??

For a skin?

That’s freaking 13% of the price of the game itself.

For a skin.

Yes! gotta love those commercials! Now, if I could only spend 25 plus dollars on Characters that used to be FREE in every other Gears games… OH WAIT!

Don’t get mad Just because you don’t have any counter points to what I say. I said you want a participation trophy once you’re still going on about that? I must have really touched a nerve with you I guess truth hurts lol.

Can’t say it goes beyond the likes of ea and activision when they had micro transactions that are paid to win. What in gears is pay to win? Nothing you are just being lazy

You paid $50 for maps you got free a week later, 60 cards and packs that amounted to bounties your don’t care about, horde cards you don’t use, and if you were lucky a day I’d the dead or color blast character. Congratulations

You paid money for characters that were free in other games in gears 3 and 4 so you’re making 0 sense. You gotta make coherent arguments lol

Both systems have its pros and cons tbh, depending on who you ask, but I get what you mean about the map packs.

Crazy right. It’s literally over a 1,000% mark up from past Gears games. Nobody in here could name one other product that could pull off a 1,000 plus % mark up from their last product to their next product. To see that there’s a very minimal group of peeps defending it is just as nutty.

Lets do one example just for fun: What if Toyota released a Corolla at 1,000% mark up, that would make it over a million dollars, you think people would be happy? Heck no. That’s because that would be crazy! It’s no different just because a video game is cheaper than a car, the principle remains the same. They want people to pay a 1,000% mark up on these in game items.

IGNORE… See guys, it’s easy!

You didn’t even ignore it lmao

Well the markup example isn’t really a 1:1, but I get your point.

What I’d compare it to instead is Street Fighter V, a game that, like Gears, is being billed as a live service with constant updates. In August they released three new characters-- so not skins, but fully playable unique characters built from the ground up with entirely unique animations and everything. Those were $5.99 each. If you want new skins for characters, those are typically $4, And all new characters, stages and music, as well as most all skins, are earnable in-game through acquired fight money. Rarely is something purchasable-only.

By that direct comparison within the same industry, yeah, Gears is incredibly overpriced.

The whole game is a mess and TC knows it. I think they’re trying to rake in all the cash they can before we finally give up on them.
We’ve been hanging on, in hopes of them redeeming themselves somehow, but that hope is dwindling.

I don’t know why TC don’t make the price point around $2-$5 for skins and characters, many more would bite around that, anything more it falls into WTH HOW MUCH!?

yes man you should , however RONNY THE MCDONALDS clown , wont give you anything not even the shake hands. = )

LOL

hI man

Its not enough what I want its at least 5 ammo boxes on each horde stage, if they give me that I would be happier .

Yeah, I get what you’re saying, my point is rather that no company could release products & could get away with a 1,000 plus percent mark up on their previous product, so why is that okay for video game companies to do that to their loyal consumers?

To your point, yeah Street Fighter charged $5.99 and I’m pretty sure Mortal Kombat 11 is about the same price, but those characters are all fully unique built from the ground up when it comes to their move sets and animations.

Gears characters are essentially skins except for their “unique abilities” in horde. But those characters don’t take nearly as much development work to build as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat Characters. Those games also release with large rosters to begin with. I’m not as familiar with Street Fighter but all Mortal Kombat’s Characters are decked out with unique animations, voices, move sets, fatalities. That’s a lot more development work put into those characters.

And I think you have to factor in that Gears Roster was always bigger in the past, that they are now charging money for characters that were always included in the rosters & FREE in previous versions and skins were generally FREE to earn as well. They’ve just regressed all across the board, but one thing is consistent, they want you to pay a 1,000% mark up on their in game products.

Now I’m curious because it’s been so long I can’t remember.

Does anyone know how many of Gears 4’s multiplayer characters were available at launch before they started adding with packs? I know that Gears 2 & 3 obviously had more options than Gears 5, but I genuinely can’t remember what we started with in Gears 4.

I wanna say 4 had more than 5 out of the gate, but I can’t say it with confidence.

I posted about the starting character content here. Starting cog were much more varied and a wider cast to choose from while swarm was pretty much consistent in GoW4 compared to 5. And on top of each character was at least 1 other variant for them for the most part and then of course there were the day of the dead, zombies, and color blasts…but it was unlockable content nevertheless!

From what I’m aware of, the # of character skins in 5 come in at 50-60% of what was available out of the gates in 4.

4 also started with more maps.

Yeah I know there were more maps. Couldn’t find an easy list of every available character/skin at launch though.

@The_lMlan cleared it up for me.
