By how much would the ping drop by if I switch to ethernet?
And the lowest ping I have ever gotten was 57.
Depends on your connection, but if I actually end up in my own region my ping is 1.
Maybe you are really close to your server location?
I dream of 1 ping…
I really doubt that TC has servers in the middle of Germany.
Amazing for PvE, PvP is unplayable with it.

Playing gears at a 1ms ping feels like playing any other game at 300ms.
Gotta remember, they wanted to make it “fair” so your 150ms could have a chance against my 1ms.

Not everyone lives near a server and can have 20-30 or below ping. I’m regular 50-70 on most American servers using good internet on wired connection sending my data from Canada. Should I not be allowed to play ranked? Sounds kind of unreasonable to me.

I think you exaggerate the difference between near zero and 60 ping average. I doubt there is any advantage at all. Or if there is, it’s for the near zero ping player. I think this difference in ping is just a convenient scapegoat to explain a less desired outcome.
Of course not if you never played with a ping of 1…
And do you regularly play with a ping of 60?
I’ve played with pings around 80 after switching to faster MM and all my Gnasher-shots suddenly had magic abilites. Same when I’ve played with someone from the US and had a ping around 160.
When I’m playing with a ping of 1 I die to so much BS it’s not even funny anymore.
I certainly don’t have magic gnasher shots. I guess 80 must be the magic number.
It just comes off as selfishly entitled when you say anyone with a ping higher than 20-30 should be gone from ranked. So 70% of the ranked playerbase should be deprived from ranked? If only you were king, you could sign the decree and you wouldn’t have to play with us feeble plebs.
I absolutely think you should be able to play ranked, I also think the game shouldnt hinder mine or any others experience to attempt to balance the fact that my 1ms ping will have an inherent advantage over your 60ms.

Just to make it clear i lost my mind trying to play this game consistently.
Some people here don’t believe me, there is a huge difference between strong ethernet connection and a connection share, the benefit with connection share comes from the packet loss that can create scenarios where you are supposed to die but your connection is so unstable you get saved by the lag compensator same thing with hitting your shot.
When i play on 20 ping (europe server) and i see mexican player in my game (i just hate their pings nothing else) i already know i’m going to have a bad game.
Just try it by yourself if you think i’m wrong.
