May not help at all but you could try downloading the latest 3 versions of the AMD driver for your card and doing a clean install of each. Each time you do a version change you will likely want to reset the app (Windows settings -> Apps -> Gears 5 -> Advanced Options -> Reset)
clean install of 436.15 did not help either.

Same problem gtx 1070 16gb ram. Latest driver no overlays and reset cache in store. I lowered resolution to 1440p to get past carmine cutscene in act 1. Game went fine into act 2. Cutscene hits then black screen and gw502.
They never fixed the issue in gears 4. I’m not hopeful here. How can they keep getting away with this??

For AMD GPU I think I have fix this !
I installed the Radeon setting 19.7.5 and no crash still more than hour, it’s an feat believe me

Same problem with a gtx 1080
Game ready drivers released on sept 10th made my game unstable. I rolled back drivers to previously installed and am running with no issues.
Drivers 431.60, released 07/23/19 are STABLE for me at least.
I REPEAT 431.60 ARE STABLE.

Yes sorry. Was trying from memory as I am currently out. Will amend my post.
I’m gonna try this, got issues with 19.9.1 and 19.5.2 but skipped 19.7.5, with both got frozen the game.
I put an old version of AMD drivers (Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.4.1, released in April 2019). I played for 5 hours last night with no crash at all. I will try higher versions if I have time to test.

I only get this error when streaming on OBS the minute i escape to main menu after match the game and obs crash
Rolled back to version 436.15 and Gears hasn’t crashed again so far. Has anyone created a support post in the Nvidia forums that I can add to? This NEEDS to be brought to their attention.

Yes unfortunately I do. But it’s better than the game randomly crashing and being forced to restart my PC because my sound stops working.
