I still can’t play. Constantly getting the GW502 error even after installing the new Nvidia drivers today. I have tried every troubleshooting fix I could find. I’m at a loss here.

Ok guys is anyone running this with overlays on? For example msi afterburner? lots of overlays are screwing with this game turn them off and see if u still get gw502

dunno whether to buy new graphics card now or wait to see about patch

Are you running any overlays?

I was crashing around once or twice a night. Just installed the latest 436.30, now suddenly there’s an audio stutter when loading into matches. 2 GW502 crashes the past hour already. Just brilliant.

I have removed all overlays and closed all programs… Xbox Game Bar, Logitech G Hub, Discord, AMD ReLive, MSI Live Update.

No change. Still have freeze, BSOD, GW502 error, black screen. I can’t even finish the act I in campaign, my game crashes at every cutscene.

I am running a gtx1070 and was not getting any errors. Everything was fine but a message popup said I needed to update to the latest nvidia driver for gears 5. So I updated nvidia to 436.30 (latest as of 9/10). And bam! Now I am getting GW502 consistently. The game ready driver actually caused the problem in my case. TC does not seem to be taking GW502 error seriously and instead are still running around freaking out about server issues. In my opinion the game not running at all for so many people is far bigger than server side tuning/capacity issues.

Had this error since day one of release. Cannot even see a bit of game graphics, the game crashes instantly

Tried every solution possible, closed everything, updated windows, driver, re-installed game 5 times. Nothing worked.

Running on 1080 ti, 32 gb ram, 2700x

I’ve rolled back to 436.15 and no crashing (3hours last night).

I’ve noticed that upon crashing (436.30), gpu clock drops to 139mhz. This is bizarre. Nothing brings it back to stock and stable unless I disable the gpu in device manager and bring it back again.

Nvidia need to figure out what’s causing the high clock to suddenly drop to 139mhz, this is probably why the game is crashing because the clock is suddenly dropped that low.

I’d recommend everyone to just install 436.15 driver (clean, after DDU) and NOT install Geforce Experience.

Same result here…rolled back to 436.15 and no crashing/no GW502 error.

Did a clean install of 436.15 no hd audio, no geforce experience, no phys x. Just driver only clean install. Hope this helps someone.

Additional info: running GTX1070, Dolby Atmos for headphones, win10 1903 fully updated. Also removed MSI afterburner and an app I was using to undervolt my cpu/monitor cpu/monitor gpu.
