What is wrong here? The last round of the match finished and the Swarm team was one point ahead. How did they not deserve to win after the final round ended?

I understand your frustration and confusion, as the rules were never really laid out that clearly,
It’s not really first to 13 points, as much it is best of 12 rounds.
There is ONYL 12 rounds, unless the score is truly tied, in which then it goes into overtime. At the end of round 12, if one team is ahead, they win, regardless of whether they have reached the goal of 13 points.
I will blame TC for rolling out a new mode without detailed explanation of rules, but you should also wipe the egg off your face for making a post attacking TC for a game mode that is functioning as intended.

The answer has been given above.
TC may not have explained it well but its either the first to 13 or until the allowed rounds run out or in very rare circumstances until one team has an unassailable lead.
Closing thread as this is a feature, not a bug.
