Ok. Wtf… I try to start it, like I have for months on this xbox, tells me I need to be signed in with the account which paid for it. Wtf… I AM signed in with the same account as always, party works, capture viewing works, so clearly I am logged into xbox live…

But Gears wont launch…

Wtf… seriously …

Other than a hard reset maybe try to launch a different game and then try Gears again? Xbox Live is having some issues that while not directly stated may be causing your issue.
