Only if their were more people that had your mindset, reading criticism would be much less toxic.
Even tough a game could be disastrous to some, doesn’t mean you can’t find a better way of articulating those thoughts.
I think that most of us are happy, its just that we are angry towards a piece of goat game we were given.

I have the bad habit of taking my work home and being a psychologist even outside of my work environment. It’s a curse more often than it is a blessing.
That aside,
I enjoy gears 5. Is it as good as previous gears? Subjective which I’m not answering because of the fact that it isn’t gears 1-4. It’s 5. And it appears to try to establish itself as something that isn’t relying on the former titles.
Does it have issues? Most certainly. To some those issues appear big and make then not enjoy the game. To others the issues are much smaller, albeit them being the same issues.
Enjoyment is subjective. As such it should be treated as subjective, too. The hate filled posts are out of line, imo. That’s detrimental to the devs, the game and the fellow forum visitors.
It would be great if TC would communicate more.
But it would also be great if people posting on the forums, would not get outrageous to the game nor to others for not sharing their opinion.
Those that are giving positive criticism aren’t defending the Devs. We’re rather emphasizing that underneath the hatred some share, there’s things to enjoy too. Which is subjective , so I’ll word it differently. There’s things that do work too.
I think only the terminator horde mode its the only thing I find it usable towards the game, everything else doesnt feels like a gears game anymore.
Just imagine Id Software creating DOOM ETERNAL as a Prince of Persia game, they would literally be destroyed by the loyal community they also had.
Its not wise to mess with a legacy and truly Gears of war its a legacy on its own.

Doom doesn’t tickle my parts so I stay away from it.
If TC would release a skin that uses the fallout4 CBBE/bodyslide mod for Kait I’m sure there’ll be people who’ll enjoy the game more.

Really, cause i have never found this to be true. they provide feedback and insight that we might not have other wise. The community veterans here are very helpful. no they are not TC, but I think they do a great job helping and guiding.
We all have to remember that a product launch is based way more than our perception. You could spend years and tons of money trying to make it perfect. News flash perfect does not exist ( not saying that to be spiteful guys).
Most on here are veteran gamer. I am not only play gears and this is the 1st game launch i played. Last night during the special horde event i was tela porting really bad. yes it mad me made missed some kills etc, but i have decide to be a gears fan and that means all in good and based just my belief.
TC will get it under control i am sure but i am also sure we will always be critics as humans.
You bet they would. There might also be a lot more… well, you know what would probably ensue from that.
And if you’re a psychologist, it would explain why you’re always so damn calm about everything going around on this forum. Wish I was more like that too.
The community vets are helpful, what I mean is simply a direct channel from TC to this website. I believe the community support managers are active on Twitter and reddit but I don’t see much activity on here, I don’t use the other two social media’s so I rarely get any updates unless someone passes the message along.
I wasn’t attempting to lambast the guys who work for TC, just that they should interact with the forums more.

Some of the hate on the forums can be a bit on the ridiculous side. But it’s not ridiculous to expect the game to function properly on launch day. Which it hasn’t.

Yes some of the people in the community have even been threatening TC employees with violence. These people need serious mental help. But they are a VERY small percentage of the people complaining about Gears 5.

They’ve had 3 years to make the game. It’s not like Gears is an annual franchise like COD. It shouldn’t have been this bare bones to begin with considering the pretty long development time. The amount of game breaking bugs and issues this game shipped with was astounding. I don’t understand how the game went gold in that state.
Once again, these bugs shouldn’t have been present at launch to begin with. They should’ve done proper QA testing before release. They obviously didn’t do that. We’re not talking about small issues either. The game wasn’t tracking campaign progress, the servers were constantly booting people from matches, constant glitches that would prevent you from progressing through certain segments of the campaign, etc. They’re not an indie developer so they’re not getting any sympathy from me and they don’t communicate with the community enough. They treat us like the red headed step child. They’re owned by a multi billion dollar corporation. It’s not like this is a passion project being made by a 5 man team here. The gaming industry is the only industry that gets away with selling a broken product with the promise to fix it later at an undisclosed date.
No I’ve never made a video game but that doesn’t mean TC is exempt from criticism.
This argument never really holds much water. Yes they’re not mandatory, but it encourages them to price gate things that were default unlocks from previous games. I mean the default COG soldier was a default character in the original trilogy. Yeah you can earn him for free in Gears 5 but that takes a considerable amount of time compared to just forking over the 5 bucks. You obviously know which route TC wants you to take. It’s all a game of mental pummeling. Yeah you could grind to get these characters one at a time but wouldn’t it be easier to just open your wallet and get immediate satisfaction?
Whatever loss they may have had from people getting Gears 5 through gamepass (When you really think about it in the long run, people with game pass will eventually pay more considering it’s a recurring subscription, and once it runs out you can’t play Gears 5 anymore) was probably offset by the multitude of product endorsements that went along with Gears 5 such as Rockstar energy, chips ahoy and Terminator. Also it’s not entitlement to be angry about them putting what used to be default unlocks behind a paywall.
If it was a passion project that requires people to support a funding I would get that the game has its bugs and glitches, however when its backed up by one biggest name in the industry It just cant get any better than that.
The question its not to request people to giving them a break… the matter is WHY SHOULD THE COMMUNITY AND CUSTOMERS should give TC a break… ( We don’t have a valid argument to even contemplate that notion) .
That was my point. TC doesn’t deserve a break. It’s not ridiculous to expect the game to work on release. They probably rushed it to release to avoid releasing between borderlands 3 and Modern Warfare.

Comparing Gears 5 launch vs Gears 4 launch in terms of content, I think gears 5 blows it out of the park. Whether you like the content is a matter of your opinion,
7 vs maps that in general are all pretty good and fun vs 9 maps in GOW4 with 3-4 being not good .
Not counting the hive maps and a new weekly hive.
If you look at all cards between horde, there is obviously much more in G5. Many hate the hero system, I love it and makes me wanna actually play.
I remember absolutely NO incentive to play GoW4 at launch. There were no medals, no earnable content, season ranking wasn’t out yet, no stats to look at, and many really stupid weapon and character skins to get through RNG packs.
G5 I have ToD to try to complete, daily objectives, ranking in versus, fastest time in escape, level up in horde, and now totems to complete. I have more reason than ever to play.
I’m with OP here.
I am not a paid consultant for TC, nor do I think G5 Is perfect. I just have yet to hear people say wow this is sweet, rather than wtf this game is ■■■■.

Someone said about the cdprojekt red company getting money from the Polish government but I think Canada is the same thing. Ubisoft gets that government stuff too in Quebec and most video companies atleast what I’ve heard in Canada. So I think TC gets it as well apparently. I’m not like 100 percent but I’m sure that Ubisoft gets it >_>

AND it has WAY more issues than it should. It’s like your SO promising an extravagant cruise vacation and then taking you to a hotel one town over because they ran out of time to plan.
This dude must be a filthy casual, only a skill-less vermin likes this heap of trash. TC. Simply listens to veteran fans and put in what we want then gears6 might have a chance. How long will casual play this, they’ll move on as soon as MW comes out. It’s the hardcore fans that will keep the wheel turning. Man I’m so sad, was hoping for a GOW3. Just give us Gears3 remastered, all I need. Like re-skin it no need to change nothing.
