And I did buy the ultimate edition for 80 bucks and I still don’t fell ripped off. I enjoyed the campaign it was very fun and I’m enjoying versus everyday. Horde and escape aren’t my thing. So I fell I got my moneys worth knowing I’m enjoying playing everyday with more characters and maps to come.
Just have a little patience and I promise you that you will see praise for Gears 5. I swear to you the moment Gears 6 is released this forum will be flooded with “06 vets” who will drone on endlessly about how the Gears 5 release was absolutely flawless, with no server problems whatsoever. You will read about how the shop and progression system in Gears 5 was terrific, showering us in customization for very little effort or money. The weapon tuning in Gears 5 will be praised as if baby jesus himself balanced it, and you will learn about the immense skill gap in Gears 5 which firmly but fairly separated the 1337s from the n00bs.

OP, you sure like talking about our disrespect towards TC but how about TC’s disrespect towards us and, most importantly, the franchise itself? In my 25 years of gaming I have never seen such a bad release with so many problems attached to it. And yes, I also believe Rod should be fired or at least replaced by someone else.
Maybe we should compile a list of everything that went wrong so far, from the smallest to the biggest mistakes, bugs, glitches and weird design choices. Just to put everything into perspective.

It’s great you enjoy Gears 5! Now as it seems, the majority doesn’t. You’ve gotta realise that negativity and toxicity are 2 complete different things. A post that’s negative isn’t necessarily toxic just because it may sound abit harsh.
First of all, they’re barely posting on these forums or replying. They like to use TwitTwat for that. Second of all, they’re not doing their jobs on these forums properly. No one’s managing them properly.

The servers sure work for Horde and Escape to be placed on EU servers… which makes me question why they don’t for Versus. Food for thought.
Some of them might’ve outgrown the game and only play for the feeling of nostalgia. Whom - when a game is changed and adds or takes away certain features - might not be able to cope with the changes and as such the complaints begin.
Lolol you must have not seen many games then. Just this year alone there have been many worse releases then gears 5. Fallout 76 is just an example of a unplayable game actually unplayable. Gears 5 was completely playable. And you say in 25 years you haven’t seen a worse release hahahaha is that a joke. Just this last week ghost recon Breakpoint was unplayable and in much worse shape then gears 5 ever was. Grow up bud
I’m a European… Heck, I think I live like next to the servers. Because oddly enough there’s versus matches where I’m at 7 ms, meaning they do function at times. Other times im at a juicy 90-120
Alright, fair enough. But I’ve had more instances of being put on US servers in Gears 4 than in 5, where it hasn’t really occurred beyond when I actually chose a custom game on US servers.
Still, I don’t really get why EU servers have such issues in Versus. Surely the population cannot be that low yet to be frequently put onto US servers?
The servers might have a much more limited capacity. That would be my reasoning. Ireland has one and the Netherlands has one in my backyard it seems. I think the capacity of those servers is capped. Looks like it atleast
I’m sorry, but someone in England paid a higher fee for the ultimate edition and they’re probably still being put in US servers and ruining their experience. Personally, I went back to Gears 4 and have been enjoying it.
I suppose that’s a possibility. But I don’t have much experience with how servers work, or PCs much for that matter(probably should learn more about PCs so I can have a better idea of what to do whenever I want to upgrade mine).
A higher fee? You can’t purchase prioritized matchmaking. You can’t purchase your own dedicated slot on a server in any gears game
Do the currency conversion and you’ll see that the people in the UK almost always pay more for the same product as us in the US. So yes, they paid more at launch and are still dealing with issues.

Listen maybe for you probably who only plays horde or escape u can think this way but for gears of war fans for versus this is unacceptable! Rank system broken.Gnasher from campaign copy pasted to versus for 2months.Laggy servers. Overpowered riffles.Boring maps. Removing more cover and adding railings to prevent wall bounce. Slowing movement. Delays on gnasher from rolling and running forcing everyone to walk and shoot.
I said it needs work and content for sure but to think people say this game is our rite trash and unplayable is so far fetched
