Give TC a break seriously!

No I don’t work for them but nice try. Gears 5 is a very fun game. Does it need content sure more characters soon and more maps soon. But the hate you guys give is ridiculous. This has to be the most toxic gaming community I have ever seen. I get people are passionate but the evil hate and comments I have seen would make Ted Bundy proud. Like I said gears 5 does lack content and I’m sure they are hard at work rite now on making it to release as soon as they can. And they are some bugs that obviously need to get fixed but they are only humans and making games and changes I’m sure is very hard work and takes time. And people will say it doesn’t but have you ever made a video game in 2019? And while the store prices are high they are not mandatory and you have to think gears 5 probably didn’t sell as well as gears 4 because of game pass and gears 5 probably cost around 50-100 million just to make so they definitely took a big loss. So many people are so entitled that they think everything should be free and on time and want more, more, more. You guys need to relax and give them some credit as they are trying hard to pump out updates and creating content. It’s very expensive and time consuming to create a game in 2019 and most of you don’t realize that. And again no I don’t work for them so go ahead and hate on me for saying this that’s fine. I’m just a guy who is enjoying gears 5 but do realize it has problems and needs more content. But I am also a reasonable human not a selfish one.

Paragraphs and no.

Only read the title, but still no.

The reason they don’t get a break is because they released a broken product that was borderline unplayable, and for some it still is. It is inexcusable to release an unfinished product in this day and age. They get the criticism they deserve, they do not get a break for their actions. There are still bugs, issues, and lack of content.

Why do you expect a break given for a game that was clearly unfinished? No breaks.

Also I agree with @ExcaIibur Paragraph separation, please!

Tl:dr How about No? They deserve every backlash and more

The “hate” isn’t too bad here. The GoW2 forums makes this place look like Chuck E Cheese, really tame in comparison.

And just in case some people have forgotten the definition of forum, I’ll share the following screenshot with you guys, as it seems that some of you only want positivity in a place where different ideas and opinions are meant to be shared.

EDIT: Oh and yes, like others have pointed out, paragraphs would be nice. Thanks.

To be honest, forums tend to be mostly negative as one of the few places to voice concerns to like minded individuals. I don’t think anyone’s directing anger at individual people but venting because their beloved triple A game came out rather lacklustre even though Microsoft have quite a few pennies in their bank account.

The biggest problem is there has been little to no dialogue from the community support boys and this forum which rises tensions.

They are making an effort, as indicated by the stream today so I’ll give them a few kudos to that. Even talked about an update page in the game which would be handy.

A bit on the store - the vast majority of us understand that games are a business, and future content needs to be payed for via micro transactions - we get that. But it’s how you deliver these micro transactions, is it quality practice to release a game with a few characters and then charge £14.50 for two characters? The new totem thing is a remarkable addition considering what we’ve been fed recently and I’m sure most agree with me on that point.

Woah. As soon as I read the title I swear I smelled Iron in the air… how much were you given to post this nonsense?

I don’t get why they can’t just do what CDPR do… release the game when it’s ready? I’d much prefer every game developer to take their time and sell it as a finished product rather than trying to do patch work every day until it’s final assembly. I’m pretty sure Bethesda got sued for doing exactly that.

If that’s the case then every single game should get backlash cause no game every comes out complete anymore. They all need updates to finish there games.

Did you not see the state / backlash of fallout 76 mate ? :joy:

They do get backlash for it. Granted, not as much as other games sometimes, but the fact is that they do get backlash. However, they should focus on releasing a completed game first and foremost then ‘tweaking’ the game. Early Access was a mess, and the first month of the game going into the second month now has been very, very rocky. The crit is deserved.

@J_A_M_E_S_XlI It’s because Microsoft pushes to release for season sales or holidays. Same thing happens with other games on the platform from secondary publishers or primary. It’s all about the money and how much revenue they can make for their quarter.

A lot of other games have received backlash though, where have you been hiding…

True, my strong hopes of quality business practice clearly overshadowed the reality which is that precious juicy quarter

I’m not defending TC or the rest of the industry with what I’m about to say next, but it’s simple. In my understanding, CDPR doesn’t have any investors that it needs to answer to because they receive grants from the Polish government. And if they do, they must have the nicest investors known to mankind as they don’t push them to meet a unreasonable deadline.

Other studios aren’t so lucky. They may have investors that rush them to release their products as they expect certain revenue to come in during whatever quarter they’re in, which is why so many games end up releasing in borderline beta form. Or they’ve got publishers who pressure them to do so.

In this case I assume MS was the one that rushed them as they have no other game coming out this year.

What you may perceive as hate and disrespect, others may not. Especially in this day and age where people consider words to equal actual violence. And you have to see where those people come from to. They feel wronged and insulted because no matter how much they try, TC nor MS ever listen, or rarely do.

So I say let them vent and say their peace.

It has been for a lot of players. I, myself, have encountered a lot of the bugs listed on the page and have contributed to the posts for known bugs as well.

Content crashes, glitching framerate, game drops, weapons not registering, tank controls, campaign progression locks, freezes, horde spawns not loading properly, vs bugs, crabwalking, high ping, crashing after escape, the game not giving you your XP, double star drops not registering, content not being given after purchases, the PC 502 error that prevents the game from loading at all.

Graphical model glitches, spawns breaking in campaign, collectibles not tracking, achievements not unlocking, weapons disappearing, spawning in walls, jack dieing in weird places and not being able to get revived, stopped chapter progression, there is a whole damn list of problems and you can’t tell me that this game doesn’t deserve every amount of negative crit it gets.

I rest my case.

Yeah I’m under the assumption that they aren’t beholden to share holders and straight profit. You are again right in saying that they’re backed by the Polish government.

One thing worthy to note is that CDPR now have an incredible reputation for delivering quality finished games, for that reason alone, I know (myself included) people who are simply buying Cyberpunk purely on the assumption that they’re more than capable of delivering an outstanding game, even though it isn’t ‘my type of game & genre’. I don’t need to worry because it’s CDPR who are making it.

*** perhaps it was to get it out as soon as possible so it doesn’t interfere with the launch of Halo?

Yep, they can make any type of game they want and I’ll still buy it, just because I like that they stand by their principles.

EDIT: Yeah, I think so too. Made the same remark on another thread.
