I opted for Google play music over Spotify because their family plan was a better value; Now it’s going away and getting replaced with Youtube Music which makes my kids happy because no more youtube ads.
But I don’t listen to music when I play because I am boring. I miss the younger me that ran marathons and jumped out of airplanes - but nothing good lasts forever.

I have Google Play Music through a buddy and I’ve never had YouTube ads on his family plan. I use Spotify as I don’t like the music service from Google but nonetheless ad free Youtube is great.

I reckon google play music carried the same benefit already and I just never noticed. That def made it a better choice than spotify. My son uses free spotify but with that you can’t pre-download playlists so when we are camping or on the subway data will be awful as will everything that demands it
