So to anyone who has gears tactics,what kind of online and offline modes does it have and hows it different in comparison to gears 5 in how you play it?
It’s a Offline game
That is surprising,with such a luvfest for online play,in gears games i wonder why anyone would have wasted there time begging TC to bring this game to console.I mean as a offline only game after you beat it a few times it becomes a dust collecter or goes straight to ebay.
What incentive is there to buy anything form G.T in game store if it’s offline only.(If it has a store)
No wonder it started out as a PC only game.

They’ll probably add modes but still the game has a bit of replayability

Well it is a gears game i just hope that theres something about it other then gear characters and locations to fight around.There are alot of tactic style game i hope there something unique about this one.
Its a Gears of war strategy game similiar to XCOM, not to mention Gears has always originally been xbox exclusive, its obvious why this game is most wanted on console.
Though I do understand the confusion with lack of online play, I was hoping we’d have a skirmish vs mode similiar to XCOM but that simply wasn’t the case, missed opportunity but tactics on its own is still going to eat up a lot of MY personal time I can say that much.
The uniqueness boils down to it being a Gears of war strategy game…
Hmmm,so i haven’t played to many tacticial games,is this a difficult game type to build a online game around and maybe that why TC didn’t want to do it?
You make it sound like a bad thing that you get a “finished” product.

Why do you want online with it? At most coop could be viable but it wouldn’t add value for most players, like playing co-op chess.
Gears universe? chainsaw executions? Your character screaming “Eat it grub” while doing a messy execution?

I agree. Without any multiplayer I’ll lose interest very quickly. But everybody’s different.
Thousands of years ago, as far back as the PlayStation 2 era, ancient peoples spent money on a game only once. It was also normal for them to play only for a few days or weeks either alone or with someone from their tribe.
Modern scholars are still trying to figure out what the hell happened.

I don’t wish to be rude, but are you genuinely saying you have no idea about this game? It has been out since April and talked about extensively on Gaming media and more importantly on our forum.
I played on pc and it is excellent… It is set in the Gears universe.
I’m sure it will have plenty for you to enjoy, however it is a totally different genre to Gears.

It’s a single player game. Not everything needs to be a hyper competitive arena of slaughter. I wonder if these PvP savants even know anything about the characters they play as. They probably play as Marcus and say “he’s just that guy with the cool voice and funny lines.”. Have no idea who JD is or what Swarm are.

Sadly no online of any kind. It’s a shame because I like Tactics mechanically more than XCOM, but XCOM has pvp.

Maybe it’s good that tactics doesn’t have online modes because gears 5 online modes bearly work have the time,just less problems for TC to fix or brake other things.
After beating the campaign and doing some veteran missions, these days ill play 1 maybe 2 missions a day at most. Personally a pve/pvp online mode would be nice. Obviously the kinks still need to be worked out for xbox, but overall its still a pretty good game even without online
