Gears tactics customization in Gears 5- 6!?

Hi there, so I’ve been watching a few videos lately on tactics waiting patiently for its release to xbox, an I have to say I don’t think I’ve been more excited for something gears of war for a long time, the graphics, the gameplay and customization looks amazing, hope it plays as well as it looks, theres just a slight eye-brow raising issue I’ve had with a lot of you tubers opinions of the level of customization making it over to Gears 5 or more realistically Gears 6 if anyone’s even ready for that?

I get that this customization is awesome and I agree, BUT I dunno about you guys but I don’t think the large colour pallette would compliment versus modes as the team colours have always been red vs blue, blue for cog and red for locust, maybe in Gears 6 we get the option to use a customizable character depending on the faction (gear/deebee/locust/swarm) and we could customise it head to toe, facial features, armor and all V similar to this, but colours would have to be limited to team pallettes e.g blue, black, military green for cog and red, black, brown for swarm, only place I could see multicoloured custom characters would be free-for-all and maybe pve modes as at least in the FFA you know everyone is the enemy.

The other issue is I’m guessing many fans would still like og characters available to be playable like Marcus and other members of delta squad for example untouched by the kind of customization we are talking about.

My main point is some players really couldn’t be trusted with this level of customization especially when it came to pvp elements, look at the terminator characters in Gears 5 now and those awful multi-coloured colourblast skins in gears of war 4.
I really rate the idea of some sort of character customization to an extent, but it’s gotta be limited in some ways in my opinion, what do you guys think?

Do we really want a repeat of this?

Or…

Clowns of war anyone?

Don’t get me wrong I like the freedom to customization, but it really needs to be moderated I think…

Any game with detailed customisation for online play has people who choose to make ridiculous looking characters.
It’s part and parcel with having it. Granted, it’s probably younger people who do this but otherwise I don’t see the point in having watered-down basic options. May as well stick the system we have.

Any customization in Gears needs, needs, needs to stick to armour parts that fit authentically. That means colors and all.

Otherwise don’t bring it in, agreed.

The armor parts are great in Tactics with many old armors we know from characters like Marcus’s Gears 1 & 2 armor, Tai’s armor in Gears 2, Baird’s armor from Judgement, Dom’s commando and Gears 1 & 2 armor, Classic Onyx guard armor with a new helmet that probably was from around the Pendulum Wars era and the UIR armor. All of these cool armor choices you can customise for every character in Tactics and that’s something a mainline Gears game should implement same along with the weapon customisation. 1585747290433

Thats the only way I say bring customization into Gears. And no, keep the clown makeup and bright colours out. Just because other games do it, doesn’t mean Gears should.

Well it couldn’t be any less watered down then the new system we have which is to wait for our favorite characters to appear in new updates months or years down the line, all I’m saying is, the tactics system would be nice but in moderation, so a customizable human or swarm base, colours limited to teams recognition and like @S_IK_O_IR_G_E said >>> full armor sets and helmets as shown in tactics

considering how out there, gears skins can get, i really don’t think that’s the best argument against Customization.

For me, personally, I rarely buy skins but would gladly put real money towards being able to create and customize my own characters. More so, if i got to use them in the non-essential slots in story mode as a silent Rando following the main cast.

I would love to see a much more in-depth and detailed customizer, with class options and ability selections.
