Gears of war has lost its IDENTITY and inturn PLAYERBASE!

No… Not possible, An exclusive could never amount to a multi-plat, and even if we played along with your thinking and pretended it could, I think Halo factually proves this wrong.

The hype for Halo 2 was unprecedented for the time. It was arguably the shooter for that entire generation so naturally when Halo 3 dropped, it was a monumental launch. H3 sold 11.87 million units, compared to COD, which sold 17.28 million with Modern Warfare.

And to top it off, Halo is way more accessible than this game will ever be, and it’s still millions of units behind COD.

Rod was more of the Time/Budget guy, though he was more involved then, as it’s always mentioned that it was him that stressed they make sure to get Multiplayer in the game in time for launch, instead of it being something they just messed around with. I guess he’s not involved enough now, or doesn’t care enough.

The dev team at the helm now is a cookie cutter dev team MS just threw on the job. They’re clearly just trying to milk the name of the franchise. We complained about how high the microtransaction prices were in GOW4 and the fact it was still RNG when you spent $.

They went ahead and removed Gear Packs and Credits, and try to get praise for actually making it even more predatory. We can’t even earn the stuff that would normally be in Gear Packs now, their locked away in the $-only store. The Tour of Duty and regular Supply items are what would be in GOW4 Series 1-3 unlockables.

AI in the game seems to somehow have gotten worse than GOW4, which is insane. That’s why I can’t even enjoy attempting to play the PVE modes like Horde, ontop of them still refusing to add either way more Swarm or Locusts to Horde. No one wants to see a dozen clone Scions coming out holding different power weapons, when in older Gears it’d be completely different Locusts with those weapons. Same for all the robots, so lame.

This. The maps, the enemies, the setting, all these things take away from the old Dark Theme.

Well I just looked at the figures, Halo 3, 3.3mill sales in first 12 days, Gears 3, 3 mill in 7 days.

Genuinely interested in where you got your figures from as the first thing I found was:

I don’t know how accurate this is just FYI. I have no skin in this debate, just curiousity.

If I’m wrong it’s no bother but searching gears 3 first week sales gives me a lot of articles like this. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.engadget.com/amp/2011/09/29/gears-of-war-3-sold-over-3-million-units-in-first-week/

It’s no bother to me really I love early halo games more than I did gears at the time, but man there was a lot of hype for gears 3 when that game came out.

Honestly gears 5 I feel like is a good installment in the franchise, the story was fairly good I enjoyed it. There was a lot of lore in the campaign even from the books which I loved. The game does need work I will say the store is overpriced and there are other things that I’ll not get Into but it still feels like gears of war. I am all for new ideas for the franchise cause it’s not going to last long if they keep doing the same thing like gears 4 don’t get me wrong gears 4 was good but nothing new.
