I love how people always bring up the whole 3,000,000 players at launch lol. I guarantee you without Gamepass, that number would’ve been probably half that, if not maybe a quarter. They need to bring back Cliffy B to fix everything…right @ll_R_E_D_l !!!
Definitely prefer the launch maps of 2. Also got more initial enjoyment out of it, but it was also when the franchise was relatively new, and for me that may be a factor. There are other game series that are/were some of my favorites, but with each subsequent game I’m less likely to put the kind of time in I did with previous ones. I haven’t played Gears 5 as much partially due to Gears 4 being a constant from its launch until 5’s.
I’ve sunk a good chunk’a time in each Gears of War game and have never been slown down by age with each release. Gears 5 lacks the passion that previous installments had, so it’s not worthy of my time so I only play it in small increments as opposed to large, frequent marathon’s as I’ve done with previous Gears game, even Gears 4 and Judgment.
Age can definitely be a factor in whether or not you play a sequel as much a previous installments though. Unfortunately it seems like Gears 5 is that game for me.
TC deserves criticism and not all points in this thread are wrong, but I have to be fair. The reason this game is not being streamed is because majority of gamers suck at gears.
the other ones that don’t suck but aren’t still streaming are those stupid cringy “pros” who got caught in the lie they told about how great gears 5 was. Seriously I don’t know how this game got released in such a bad form.
Ashes (from optic/tox/nrg/pinkrainbowfart or whatever he’s supposed to be part of ) posted a tweet asking why teams aren’t streaming.
They all whined about how they didn’t want “their strats” to be known (bounce like a crackhead and knife like a little ***** and throw a flash) or that “pubs are boring” ( excuse)
Even ashes isn’t streaming or making videos.
That makes zero sense. It’s not that it isn’t, or wasn’t, being streamed. There were more pro and top players than ever trying to stream it when it came out. It’s the VIEWERS that are non existent. Because, people just don’t like the game. When you don’t have viewers, you have to stream something else.
When you go from having Ninja stream your game to having 49 viewers… Well, do I even need to explain that?
You really need to read back your comments before posting…some of what your saying is laughable🤔
That and removing motion blur and reduced shaky cam, I’d gladly give Gears 3 Versus another try. I used to hate Vs. back on the 360 days because of that crap, especially Gears 1’s <20 FPS, good lord.
Was sad to see Kratoznizmo (best sniper in Gears, period) post his “First and Final” Gears 5 montage today, citing no love or interest in the game and the direction TC took it in.
Sad milestone as seeing and creating amazing montages was my favorite thing about Gears. I just don’t see the pride in high level/trick plays like there was in the past.
Ninja was never going to stick with it and I was talking more about the Gears community and how they just don’t make content Not talking about guys like Dr Disrespect or Ninja or even Shroud who at least tried it.
It’s partly on the community too was my point. I could have worded it better with fewer words.
5 was the next new AAA game and people fell for the hype and it was on game pass. Then the people who were never going to stick around left.
But the lack of content is still on the ones who play Gears regardless of if those people quit watching. Gears 4 players didn’t make content either. Gears will only be popular with the existing Gears fan base.
Not Ninja’s audience. They’re zoomers who play Fortnite. We don’t need them anyway. That’s who TC and MS were trying to attract though. The masses of casuals that play whatever is new.
You are aware that most of the long time fans are leaving too, right?
On a personal level, 95% of the people on my Xbox friends list are people I met through Gears. I barely see any of them playing Gears 5. This isn’t a “Fortnite kids left, goodriddence” thing. Gears fans are leaving too. It’s not a good thing for the future of the franchise and, as a fan who still sticks around here even though I don’t like Gears 5, that concerns me.
We all know gears 5 is dead.
The multiplayer is awful and insufferable.
Finally someone who GETS it! Yes, stream numbers may not mean much but they do convey INTEREST in a game. People that are into the game will often watch streams or YouTube videos to gain tips on how to play better. At this point there is little to no interest in Gears 5. Horrendous viewer count on Mixer/Twitch. I mean games like StarDew Valley beat out Gears 5 two months into its release…YIKES. YouTubers hardly post videos anymore, and when they do, it is mainly videos criticizing the game. I knew this game would be dead after 2 months or when GamePass expired, LOL. It is like TC set out to win the award for the worst triple AAA game launch of recent times…and they succeeded. Now they are trying to recoup their money by charging ridiculous prices for ugly and unimaginative cosmetic items. TC has no taste, class, or style. Game is cheeks!
I dont know about recent time.
Evolve
No Man’s Sky
Mass Effect Andromeda
Fallout 76
Those were worse IMO. Gears 5’s launch was still pretty bad.
I just mean that it’s it’s not only the game. I don’t disagree with what you were saying, just that there are more contributing factors than just the game that make people not stream it.
Fair enough. I don’t disagree. You’re right, there’s many factors.
ME Andromeda was actually decent, people just whined to much.
That looks like a good f*ckin’ game. What I’d give to play a video game where I’m forever constipated with a turtle head pokin’ out of the bun so I run like that through all of it.
Nah, it was a broken mess tbh, and the story was far from good compared to the original trilogy. Thank god it tanked and they put the franchise to rest.
Glitches and bugs don’t ruin it for me, a quick reload and your set. I honestly didn’t run into half the bs people claim, maybe I’m fortunate, granted it wasn’t as good as the originals but I didn’t find it that bad.
