DEVELOPER BLOG: UPDATED OPERATION 4 RANKED GEARS COINS REWARDS
When Operation 5 launched last week, every player that achieved a Rank in Operation 4 received rewards including a Torque Bow, XP, and Gears Coins commensurate with their highest-ranked placement.
Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen bug, every Ranked player received as much as 3x the amount of expected Gears Coins. This error was the result of Gears Coins being awarded based on every achieved Ranked Tier, as opposed to every Rank. For example, if a player reaches Gold they receive a bonus of 3,750 Gears Coins but, due to this error, that same player could’ve earned as much as 11,250.

Since this error only impacted Ranked players, these extra rewards have created a major imbalance amongst all players. And it becomes even more pronounced for players that achieved a high rank in multiple playlists.
To address this imbalance, we have rolled back all of the coins received in error so now players will have an accurate and updated balance that is reflective of the correct amount of coins earned in Operation 4.
Note: Any impacted, ranked player that purchased content since the beginning of Operation 5 will get to keep any purchased content as well as be refunded the amount of the purchase. For example, if you bought a character skin for 4,000 coins you get to keep the skin and will be refunded the 4000 coins.
