Gears 6 Campaign Who Lives? Who Dies?

So assuming Gears 6 ends this trilogy who do you guys think will survive? Heres my predictions (Assuming Humans Win)

Kait - Alive (I see no reason for her to die honestly. Just doesnt make sense for the story imo)

JD - Alive (imo hes the canon choice, but I can see him dying about halfway through if Del becomes Swarm like Reyna did)

Del - Dead (Choice at the end was stupid, will probably be mini boss in 6)

Fahz - Alive (Could sacrifice himself for Cole, but I doubt it, mostly)

Marcus - Alive (Could also die, depends on how long JD lives, could see him pulling a Dom for Kait and JD. I hope him and Myrrah get to have a chat though)

Baird - Alive (Same as Kait)

Cole - Dead (I’m assuming the fake out in 5 was just to gauge fan reaction and hes the least essential of OG Delta)

Sam - Dead (Her treatment in 5 tells me shes gonna be one of the first to go in 6 sadly)

Clay - Alive (Same as Kait)

Jinn - Dead (Toss up either way, dont really care about Jinn either)

Paduk - Alive (Could form UIR again to oppose COG, but this time on friendlier terms)

Gears 6 Carmine - Dead (Unless they swap this one and Clay just to throw people off, but I feel that a Carmines gonna die either way)

Queen Rey(Myrrah)na - Alive (Probably will be a cliffhanger ending on her fate to leave the door open for Gears 7 in the future

Keegan - Alive (Hopefully they actually make that Hiverbuster DLC, cause I think the Hiverbusters will all have a role in Gears 6)

Lahni - Alive (Her arc isnt complete and I dont think Gears 6 will even touch on it)

Mac - Dead (Main focus of the Hivebusters, I think he will die even before Gears 6 if they make that DLC, he seems to have come to terms with things in the comic so I’d say only a matter of time)

My opinions are pretty different from yours so I won’t list them one by one.

But my main disagreements are with JD and Cole.

IMO Marcus is the soul and Cole is the heart of Delta Squad. If anything, Baird has a bigger chance of dying and the legacy of “chief COG engineer” going to Del.

The Fenix family is just one tragedy after another so IMO the canon choice was for JD to die so that Marcus is 100% focused on defeating the swarm. Another reason is that the “QuickTime event” was meant to be a gut reaction, and I think at that point in the game, Kait would have saved Del instinctively.

I imagine Gears 6 starting with the last vestiges of humanity floating on a ship and Marcus is like “How did this happen again?”

Then JJ Abrams shows up and is like “Sweet, another remix to an original trilogy”

I dont remember where I read it, but I dont think they are sticking with a trilogy format. I remember rod saying something like that it’s too restrictive for the story,

See If Del ends up being canon then I can see Baird going, but I’d rather JD be alive. Hes a much better character than Del and I’m interested to see where he goes then just learn pretty much anything about Del.

Yup we disagree right there. I think JD is the type to do reckless things for the sake of completing a mission. I think it was appropriate for him to go down fighting, trying to take on the leader of the Swarm with just a knife. I think Del is the more interesting character. His concern for Dave the robot mirrored Baird’s love for Jack (Baird hesitates to give away Jack to Del).

In the beginning of 5 yes, but I bet he becomes much more like Marcus after everything that happened in 5. Hell even by the 3rd act he admits he was wrong to del and kait. And after loosing Del hes gonna get much more bitter. That in my opinion is a good story arc.
Del isn’t a bad character, but he has no arc, he fills the role of sidekick and that’s about it. Hell his death would make his character more meaningful due to how it could change JD.
And I feel like everyone kinda ignores the kait and jd love intrest. Faz even jokes at it in the opening cutscene in act 4.

Except he hasn’t changed. You didn’t quote the part from my comment about him going up against the Queen with just a knife. I think when the pressure is on he will throw his life away every time.

Which was never confirmed and not hinted at nor mentioned anywhere outside of Gears 4, at that. I suspect it is no longer a thing, if it ever even was, and that Kait’s feelings towards JD may not be as positive any longer as they were before Settlement 2s fall.

And unless I’ve been misremembering or hearing it wrong all along, Fahz is jokingly saying to Kait “Stop falling in love with me.”, not hinting at whatever there may have been between her and JD.

Except that was to help kait which Marcus would do the same. But ultimately it was just a dumb reason for you to make that “choice”. I really wish it wasn’t in there. The only part of the campaign I didn’t like. And ultimately ended up in more work for the devs for no reason.

I have no memory of ever seeing that in the two times I have read it so far.

Bloodlines has a chance at giving us more details on this but I somehow suspect it won’t go into the relations between Del/Kait/JD much further than what we already know… when it should, imo.

They didn’t go into Marcus or Anya either, its mentioned and everyone knows, but gears isn’t really a romance story lol.

Baird asks kait if she wanted her own room in his estate or if her and JD would be rooming together. She gets mad, but why would they write something like that in if its not going anywhere, same with 4, that’s just bad / stupid writing if those are not foreshadowing something.

You could be right, I’m just saying its dumb if they don’t do anything with that

If I were to write the story from here on out I’d give JD and Kait a kid or twins, since they are the grandchildren of both Adam fenix and queen myrrah, there could be some cool inner conflict for the great grandchild/ grandchildren. You could even have one abducted and raised by the new queen to command swarm or whatever new locust evolution comes. Theres potential in my opinion.

God I hope they don’t, I really don’t think the story is even close to a climax yet. The Swarm War JUST started by the end of 5.
