Since the game is going to be on Steam they had to. Would have otherwise been laughed at and tossed to the side by the masses.

Most of the players complaining about pc players are just ragers from my experience. I have never ran into 1 pc player using aimbot or hacks because it is near damn impossible because of uwp encrypting everything. Like Kitten said they are taking it serious this time because Gears 5 will be on steam too so pc players will have full access to the game files this time around.

It may be difficult to create the cheats, but once they’re created, they can be sold and distributed to the masses very easily. That’s what happened for Gears 4. It was impossible to cheat for the first little while, but then the cheats were created, sold and able to be installed within 20 minutes to any loser that wanted them.
Anyway, cheaters were rampant for a few months at a time. If you played on PC during the rampant months in TDM, KOTH or Guardian, I wouldn’t believe you if you said you never ran into one. But yeah it depends on when you played and which modes.

It definitely peaked and then settled down to a few who consistently kept making new accounts.
The aim and goal is to ban people and make sure they can’t come back.

I know I must’ve encountered more than 5 cheaters during the life span.
Mainly during the beginning and mid life of this game. Not so in the past 8 or more months.
Few I recorded and posted. Will be great to not have to see any of that crazy stuff again.

I didn’t see a single cheater in my first year and a half of Gears 4, then I was running into the same one repeatedly at the end.
We also need to keep in mind that anti cheat doesn’t mean there will be no cheating. You can go online and see forum discussions by people who are actively hacking and sharing info for games with anti cheats. I found this out myself when I was wondering how people were spawning with power weapons in my favorite new game.
But, I don’t want to take any credit away from TC for finally implementing an anti cheat. That, I’m very happy about, even though I’m not really interested in the Gears 5 VS so far. It’s good to see they’re finally getting in board with pc standards.

Easy Anti-Cheat.
It’s… not exactly the most respected anti cheat and I’ve seen cheaters on EAC games. But, it’s better than what we had before, which was essentially nothing.

TC wouldn’t be taking it seriously if it wasn’t true. I been boltok from across the map a few times when Gears 4 was at its peak.

I never.ever. came across a cheater in Gears 4, EVER…oh wait…I only played a 100 hours or so of MP and most of that was ai vs co op so…

Clearly you don’t remember that cheater *Swarm Drone and the thread about him. Dude could chainsaw you through a field of gunfire and he eats gnasher rounds for breakfast.

I think I just might play more MP on a stack with you and red for sure, this way I can hit diamond and make threads saying stacked teams are awesome and make a lot of people angry

Stacked Teams are harder to get Diamond in 
But with Red and David, no issues whatsoever
