Love that idea!
The omen is terrible, the more damage you receive the less you can see around yourself.
In ranked if a player quits please replace it with a bot once someone quits it’s almost a loss for sure
the elimination system is bad keep it like in gears 4
The 1 problem that Gears 3 had were sponge characters, everything else was great.
It happened to me twice already, when I try to leave the lobby
in ranked matchmaking I get stuck in the “please wait” animation.
Fix ur ranking system for AFK PLAYERS AND RAGE QUITERS WE ARE NOT PLAYING GEARS AT THIS POINT UR PLAYING DOMINOES AFTER ONE PERSON LEAVES THEN THE NEXT ONE
I’m absolutely loving the arcade mode! So much fun! Only gripe I found is when you fall and are crawling it seems to be a bit slow and glitchy. Otherwise excellent!! Love the new mode.
Im having issue with my logitech g900 and g903 where when looking around it has a delay for like 5 seconds…with and without cable mode…not an issue in menu or option and no issue with my old mx518
Any user of the same mouse had the same issue?
I would love to see doors on the game. Where u can open close and even breach doors. Also add a prone position. Ty
True Gears don’t lay down and die, they GET UP AND FIGHT!!!
wanted to add some other things :
-
Input lag is very annoying. i Switched up between gears 4 & 5 and i could feel something is wrong with gears 5 … So far my main concern.
-
Game kinda rewards campers way too much with this gnasher. Pushing people just doesn’t worth the risk. Defensive play style is the way to go now … Slower wallbounce, Aim assist and such make it even worse …
-
2 shot downs are Everywhere
-
Claw is OP
So , after 2 days of Tech Test I feel like I may express my opinion.
This game looks tons of fun , it has its problems , but definitly not as trash as some people say.
PROs
-Main menu music sounds just fine.
-Customization has a lot of potential , the fact that we’re going to be able to choose from different skins , execution and emotes is just fine , also helps the versus durability.
-Graphics and aesthetics look just great.
-I’m ok with louder Torque , Cryocannon and I absolutly love new Boltok.
-Gnasher’s shot detection seems better.
-Good job in nerfing the 'nades , they used to be damn nukes.
CONs
-Both modes are almost unplayable due to the scary LAG they own. I basically played a whole day with a second and half of delay towards all other players. Imagine if this was the same for every player in the Tech Test …
Exatly , you get the sensless mess that people is complaining about in this thread.
-Enforcer is way too strong , even outside arcade. It has too much range compared to 4’s and I also get the feeling that the mag is just endless , It can fire for a couple minutes!
Nerf , Nerf , Nerf.
That thing can outmatch an experienced Gnasher player with Extreme ease.
-Why Nerf the grenades if the Dropshot is still a nuke?
-The only thing that’s really shameful about this game -and the Tech Test has nothing to do about it- is the HEAD HITBOX.
Is It me? Because that thing feels HUUUUUGE!
15 out of 20 death by headshot , It was to the chest , or the shoulder , or the back.
What I saw in the killcams scared me , because even if they shot nearby the head area , the thing insta BLEW UP.
Enforcer close range is straight up broken in arcade because you can basically wipe out 2 persons in 2 seconds , NO starter should be allowed to do that.
I mean , Markza and Boltok do not insta-death headshot , but Enforcer does?
Please.
-I agree with people saying that 2 minutes Power Weapon respawn is just too long.
How am I supposed to clear a ring full of people if not by blowing them up?
5v1 bounce clutch?
Yeah , good luck with that.
Overall , the game seems great fun ,but of course some detailed must be fixed.
I feel like the game does not weight camera position enough when getting into cover in terms of determining which direction you intend to face once you hit the wall. Many times I’ll come toward a piece of cover (especially small pieces that allow you to run around either side), look at the direction I want to face so that once I hit the wall I can immediately run around the cover, but instead my character will face the wrong way. This can often lead to unintended follow-up actions such as rolling off of cover, or mantling over crouching cover. In a fight, both of these things often lead to death.
Hey wait if GOW Judgement’s Overun was released by it’s self as a stand alone 20 dollar game or DLC No one would complain, Its Horde vs Beast mode and it still feels like gears, I was dissapointed when beast mode came out on Gears 3 thought it was PVP. To bad i was hoping they would bring back Overrun. Add old and and new maps it would be great…
They should really do away with the reload button being the same as the chainsaw/grenade launcher. That’s gotten me killed too many times. Also the end of round announcers should be optional. It’s bad enough I lost to a team of 5 and half of my team quit. I don’t want to hear the game tell me how terrible and disgusting I am. I get enough of that in the real world.
• A Major Issue i have experience is getting deranked while winning matches in rank koth, Went from diamond 3 to Diamond 1 after winning 2 matches
• Laggy Killcame
• Sound Issue when game is too loud it causes speaker to go in and out
• Matchmaking finding and rejoining lobbies
After playing a few games over the weekend, i’d have to say that I’m loving it so far. Not sure what people are thinking saying this doesn’t feel like a Gears game, feels exactly like a Gears game to me. Feels more like Gears than Gears of War 4 ever did. I tested the game out on both PC and Xbox One S as well as on the Xbox One X. Had a similar experience on all three, with the PC and Xbox One X versions being the smoothest experience overall.
The Good:
Gameplay wise, I thoroughly enjoyed every match I managed to get into. The Gnasher was on point on my end, same with every other weapon. Everything just felt good, played smooth. The speed was fine to me, but there was definitely some adjustments that needed to be made in terms of my gameplay, however it was easy to adjust and I was chalking up eliminations in no time. Overall, the little changes made to the gameplay felt good to me, room for improvement for sure, but honestly, please don’t try and “fix” things only to make things worse.
I love the little modernization added to the game, like the kill cam and the map. In my opinion, the Kill Cam is more useful than that percentage garbage that seems to also still be in this game. Just being able to witness how you were downed or eliminated just takes away a lot of rage, at least on my end. Best part about these tweaks is it seems you can turn all of these off as an option. Giving us the option is such a great move and should be commended.
The little things added back, like giving each character more things to say throughout the match, and adding back the round start/ending announcers, were sorely missed in Gears of War 4. To me, these little things are what make it more Gears of War than the last game. Gears of War 4 multiplayer was essentially too “quiet” if that makes any sense.
The Bad:
Technical glitches happened on my end though, nothing do do with the gameplay, just a lot of glitchy moments. At one point I ended up starting with two gnashers for a whole match of King of the Hill. No lancer, no pistol and no smoke. Just two gnashers. I made do, and still managed to win the match with my team.
On the server side, there definitely needs to be some tweaks there. Getting into matches got better near the end of the day Sunday, but it was definitely a rocky start. I get it, didn’t want to hammer the servers, but overall getting into matches took a bit of time…SOMETIMES. Not all the time. I would get kicked halfway through connecting to a match. It would lag once the timer reached zero and would say that the map was “loading” which could take about half a minute to a full minute at times.
Occasionally, I’d connect to a match, but would have to wait a good 5-10 min for anything to happen. leaving and re-connecting usually solves the issue, but is never a guarantee and still takes a while for matchmaking to happen.
Bottom line, this is an awesome start, and is really making me look forward to the release of the game.
Damage on the repeating pistol feels really low for the amount of recoil, cover needs to be looked at I literally was sitting behind cover not moving and head tucked away I get head shot killed look at the kill came and the guy just aims at the edge of cover that has nothing there you can’t see me at all and boom head shot, I’ve also have had where I get into cover and die by head shot and where the guy shot isn’t even near me this might just be lag but it feels like sometimes we the players have a slight auto aim, enforcer is a bit to powerful alot of spray and pray and we don’t want this to feel like cod now do we, enemies starting to stand up and being able to swing there knife instantly, maybe I just have to get use to this game but it does feel like more of gears judgement than a main title gears, to much of you have to be behind cover or your dead type of play.
Hahahaha that is just because everybody gets disconnected in the tech test…
Your point #1 “clunky movement” is dead-on in terms of how the movement feels in general. It’s just a bit delayed and not as tight as Gow 4. However, i am thinking this may be a BUG??? Go play bootcamp mode. The movement feels great and on point. It’s not until you get into Koth/escalation does it feel slow, cumbersome, etc…
Also, there seems to be a wall-bouncing BUG that limits your character in gears 5 Koth/escalation, You cannot immediately slide after exiting a roll :
There is a huge delay (unlike gow4), which makes you feel a loss of control. However, in bootcamp mode, you can preform this maneuver and slide immediately. What the heck? Why is this move not working in koth/escalation then?? Whether these odd changes to the movement in koth/escalation are intended or not, they are making the movement feel clunky, inconsistent, and definitely unpleasant to play. Let’s get this corrected people! Share your thoughts.
