Overall the gnasher is fine, but 99% in one hit should not be a thing.
Maybe it’s already in the plan, but maybe add a returning map to next weekend’s tech test. I see a lot of criticism about the movement, but they are also new maps. Having a map players are more familiar with might give a better comparison to better iron out any issues.
Love the tech test so far. LOVE the gnasher hit markers, love the the kill cam. Lancer having more power and recoil is refreshing. The game, overall, feels new but very much Gears.
Obviously the bugs and clunkiness of the game are because its a beta.
The only quirks I see are all from the smoke grenade. I would say disable hit markers when shooting through smoke and let the grenade bounce before it goes off. I do like that there is no shock from getting hit with the smoke, however.

Maps are also generic I feel like I’m playing the same layout everytime I play your maps. More abstract and creative maps will be more fun. Why do we keep fighting in cities. What about in a jungle or in the swarm hideout. Can we have a interactive map that changes the layout mid game. What about a map that has peices of a OP gun scattered all around it and a team has to find and gather the peices to build the gun during the match. Just something creative and different involving the maps. And why hasn’t the swarm developed personalities yet? I’m assuming they’re high intelligent being like us humans. I believe we would love the swarm more if we could relate to them. They just seem like monsters to me. Also you should of made a pickup variant of the gnasher it would of been a great piece to the game(the overkill was not successful). It would of been fun if you made a sticky imulsion grenade where if someone is hit it does a certain amount of damage but doesnt automatically kill them but if they was already hurt and get killed by it then they turn lambent and turn against their team but only do melee damage.

after playing some more gears 5 i can say arcade mode is not that bad to have fun in and comp to play serious just the lancer does to much damage for now…the movement is not that bad just have to get use to it and not the fast pace in 4…some changes are good but some just make me think im playing cod with gears skins but when the game releases ill have the rest of game modes that make gears to me and other gear fans.
i havent seen much of this but keep the good work going to make this gears better and last till the next one and bring new gear players and old back to keep this franchise going.
Gnasher
Feels Great! But at the same time i feel like it fires 0.4 seconds too fast which causes it to be incredibly hard to fight when someone decides to turtle.
Corner Camping
It’s back! And better than ever. I feel like a good idea would be to give characters an innate audio queue after moving from a stationary position for more than 5 seconds. This would give players a split second more to react to a corner camping player.
Keyboard and mouse/Crossplay
I fully support crossplay, However in a ranked game I condemn unfair advantages. While you can enable/disable crossplay you can’t do so for the Keyboard and mouses users on console. I read a suggestion and I completely agree. It goes as followed but in my words “Integrate an Input detection system and reallocate all Keyboard users to PC servers/locking them into “Crossplay” servers”. A penalty for players whom swap mod game would be a simple “Crossplay” lock for 6 hours on first penalty and several days for every one after.
the roles of the Retro and Hammerburst have swapped.
now: Retro is a long-range weapon and the Hammerburst is now a mid-range rifle.
I keep get hardcore lag cant play very well at all
Now at level 44 and this is my feedback
Firstly the lag is horrendous which makes the gameplay poor and shotgun battles are never concise.
Sometimes I can’t here other players footsteps
At times it seems like I’m dying from shots from players I never see??
The smoke grenades at times are not affective and not seen by other players when detonated.
For the modes I feel like escalation is far too long between rounds and respawn times adds so much boredom I will never play it again.
Arcade mode is fun the first few times but extremely boring without a gnasher. Enables people to lancer and contains player movement to sniper fire and lancer fire. Why not just make a free for all instead of these ridiculous weapon loadouts that would be much more fun as an arcade version wouldn’t it??
Unlocked test banner, and found that I had to apply the banner to each character seperately. Also applies to emotes.
Please add a “apply to all” button. This issue was just as annoying in Blops4 and they finally fixed it, made it much smoother of a system.
That’d be nice. Gears 4 could have used something like that. Judgment had it.
Also, it seems that you can’t equip a weapon skin for a single team only. Gears 4 has something like this, and Gears 5 should too.
Agreed, it should be easier to apply to all. Hopefully it doesn’t take too much effort to arrange this.
The new blood omen is cool but when it starts happening my brain starts acting really weird and almost shuts down , has it been tested for its potential for causing seizures? Not sure if this is specific to me or what but I can litterally feel my brain like I’m going cross eyed or something it makes me extremely distorted in real life not just the game,
Way back when, game used to come with something call an instruction manual. Pretty much every one contained a seizure warning. The risk is, unfortunately, always present in gaming.
The inverse red on the Omen has to go. It does not allow me to see where the damage is coming from. Please change back

I hope they dont change it. I think its a major improvement.
You need to look at the health and Lancer/Hammerbust and enforcer damage values they all need to be adjusted you should not die so fast does not reward movement or skill just who sees who first.
So as a Gears OG i would suggest adjusting health or nerfing those guns damage values. Gears is known for up close shotgun and out moving your opponent and using Lancer/Hammerburst as Support fire for team not tactical nuke shots.
OMEN needs to also go its annoying and obnoxious and looks lame.
Apart from that love it .
Performance is amazing and has many options for PC so well done Team.
Please remove the possibility of making head shots with assault rifles in Arcade. The mode itself is quite nice but those head shots are a real pain.
