LOL remember when the coalition ■■■■■■ over their entire PC community by never fixing the issue of Nvidia card freezes and THEN they took it off the known issues list on weekly updates? Remember that forum on the official GoW website with like 500+ posts of people not being able to play GoW on their Nvidia cards and coalition disregarded the issue completely saying that they re “working on it”? Remember when Shroud tried to playing GoW4 and it kept crashing but according to coalition it was because of ‘internet issues’? GoW 4 was the biggest joke of a game on PC ever. Microsoft has actively been stealing money from people with no warning whatsoever on the store of this issue when they buy the game on PC. Now we are carrying that over to GoW 5. Coalition is going to get buried by the PC community with this garbage ■■■ broken game is on steam. As sad as it is, as a PC player who bought GoW4 and loved every single game before it, I feel a sense of justice with this ■■■■ carrying over because of how ■■■■■■ the coalition treated its PC community.

Anything on 10 series cards after 382.53 will likely result in your PC crashing.
Over the last few hours that I’ve played between last night and today, Gears 5 has completely frozen my PC at least 5 or 6 times; causing me to hard reboot. This is extremely frustrating because this issue has existed in Gears 4 for YEARS and it looks like the problem persists in Gears 5. This needs to get fixed before launch, and it’s a bit ridiculous that this issue has lasted this long without any resolution. Maybe it’s a bug in Unreal Engine, maybe it’s a driver issue, I don’t know; but what I do know is that I do not have any of these problems running other games built with Unreal on the same Nvidia drivers.
Seriously, please get this fixed.

Gears 5 is suffering from the same problems Gears 4 suffered from in my case, Since yesterday, I can’t even count the number of crashes where I needed to reboot my computer or the gw502 error that closes the game .
I have a gtx 1070

I’ve had multiple hard FPS drops and freezing that leads to me being killed and just now the game HARD LOCK my PC forcing me to restart it. I’ve NEVER had any other game do this to my PC… I know its not my PC cause my friends have been complaining about the same stuff. I seriously hope you devs fix your game cause I really want to play it but i’m not going through another 5 years of this BS

The 20 series cards don’t have the hard lock reset issue but can still have other issues in the tech test.

Crashing constantly on a 980 Ti running 431,36.
Anyone else have this issue after a BSOD crash?
After the first few BSODs this started happening, where the PC reboots, and the shortcut for Gears 5 I have on Taskbar goes invisible:
Clicking on it, or any other shortcut to Gears 5 in the Start menu opens the Windows Store to this utility that is installed apparently as something Gears 5 needs to run.
The only way I found to fix it is to launch Gears 5 Tech test from it’s Store page “Play” button. Then the other shortcuts start working again and my Taskbar shortcut shows the Gears 5 image again. It happens nearly every BSOD now.
