GTX 1080, 436.15. Constant crashing with no error code. Game just disappears. Looks and feels the same as the GoW4 crashing
Thank you. Hopefully this get resolved for you soon
I can confirm that just as it happened in the Tech Test and in Gears 4, the actual Gears 5 game is crashing as well. I just cannot believe that after been forced to play with an Nvidia driver from early 2017 for over two years, I’d still have to keep such an old driver just to be able to play a game that was released in late 2019. How incompetent must a company be for not being able to figure out how to fix a problem that its previous game has been having for well over two years?
Yeah, same issue here since the BETA. I have yet to play the game one time. Just reinstalled it 3 times, and it goes to a black screen then crashes to desktop without an error code !!!
no crashes so far just server issues so thats good at least no crashes
GPU ? You crash on the campaign or only multiplayer?
GPU? Driver? You crash on th campaign or only multiplayer?
GTX 1080 on latest driver. First crash was in multiplayer. Subsequent crashes happened in the main menu.
Try to turn V-sync off , and set fps cap 60
Thank you
Just a reminder that nvidia has said the 436.15 pascal fix is only a partial fix, so issues being experienced with GOW5 could still be a driver issue, I’m sure there will be both stability and performance improvements from both sides over the next few weeks.
This isn’t the Driver crash being discussed, review your event logs to identify any crash messages, clean install the driver or upgrade RTSS/Exit Fraps.
Some cases are definitely a result of using a version of RTSS that doesn’t play well with D3D12 contexts that can flip between 11 and 12.
I reformatted yesterday, because the new Corsair iCUE was causing heavy stuttering and high cpu usage, soo currently I dont have any RTSS or fraps installed. Clean install on everything. I havent even installed my Anti virus yet. Idk what the deal is, I have not got to play even when the BETA was around.
I have checked the event logs, and it doesn’t make any sense to me on why its crashing, if you can please let me know how I can send you a copy of it, because I don’t know too much when it comes to this.
whats your buid? got a speccy profile or pcpartspicker list?
are you using the card vertically in this chassis? the riser might not be up to grade.
downgrade icue to 3.18 or earlier (RGB Ram + ICUE 3.19 = Interrupt hell)
Riser quality was a factor with Pascal having stuttering and video decoding lockups, with RTX its worse with RT features getting hangs and bsods.
not using it vertically, its horizontal on the mobo like normal. Also yes I found out about the iCUE 3.19 problem recently, after I reformatted lol. I guess I just need to wait till Tuesday and pray that the New nvidia driver works. I have exhausted all possibilities and troubleshooted just about everything.
