Gears 5 Tech Test - Bug Reports

Not many bugs in my end just few constructive criticism words. When checking scoreboard mid game it should just flash for a sec once you hit back button . Or while you hold it. Don’t make us have to press it on and press it off it’s just a bit irritating!!!

Gnashers is good like the way it plays. Maybe a few tweeks

Unzoomed sniper reticle needs a change

Not sure if this is a bug, but when you’re out of ammo, meleeing and cancelling out of a cover slide stops the automatic reload. This wasn’t present in gears 4.

This isn’t a bug, but an inconvenience:

When in a Social match, if you hit the “Menu” button, it doesn’t show players in the lobby, it just shows the main menu.

In GOW4, hitting the “Menu” button in a Social match would show you all players in the lobby. This was useful for when you join a Social match that only has 3 players in-game, and you want to decide whether you should stay or find a more populated lobby. Many times others join around the same time as you and are also waiting to spawn in, the “Menu” button was great for that in GOW4.

Hopefully in the actual full version of Gears 5, you can still see who is in a lobby of a Social match with the “Menu” button, rather than just the main menu.

I also agree with others saying it’s way too easy to quit matchmaking in Social of Gears 5 Tech Test, you just tap “X” once and you’re out. You could be looking at stats from the last game, and mistakenly hit X twice, and you’re out of matchmaking. It should either ask you if you want to quit when you hit “X”, or you hold “X” to quit or something else.

Coalition, here is a BUG i’d like to report:

**Delayed slide after roll in ranked - It seems that sliding immediately after a roll is missing (or is bugged) from Koth/Escalation. You can no longer slide immediately after you get out of a roll like you could in GOW 4. However, it does work as expected in BOOTCAMP!!!

This makes me think it’s bugged or maybe there is an intended cool-down? Either case, this should be addressed as it makes you feel less in control of your character and often ruins the fluidity of movement, a common complaint in the tech test thus far . Please help this get noticed.

Couple of actual bugs.

After deaths, characters still running into walls. Can’t interact with them but can hear their footsteps and see them.

Sometimes chainsaw not registering when trying to saw someone in a chainsaw or execution animation.

When downed, not always, but the game wouldn’t let you crawl backwards. Would keep glitching you forwards . Didn’t notice any patterns with this as to whether it was when being downed in cover or during an animation, so not sure. Will try and record it next weekend if it happens again.

Wasn’t any weapon issues from what I can tell.

On training grounds on the side where you can
Roll or walk off the ledge (near one of the KOTH cap points), you can roll off the ledge onto the opposing wall. I doubt this is intentional. Not sure if you can stand up there as I had fallen off. Didnt try it again. See attached photo for area and ledge spot.

I had this issue also using the same control scheme. using remapped buttons via elite controller.

When I try to execute using tournament settings I always end up kicking the player instead of performing the execution.

Also, I appreciate the thought that went into the reverse omen …but I really dislike this feature the distinction between being 2 pointed and 3 pointed just isn’t very clear to me…

Also the hop up animation from ground to a platform is a little to slow and feels very sluggish during fights… the hop down animation is fine…

Also, I’d recommend turning up the wall bouncing speed maybe 2 notches, currently it feels to slow ( idk what the correct lingo is ).

Lastly, when matchmaking in ranked as a solo player I kept getting matched against squads of try hards… I hope this won’t be the case at launch as it’ll make for a toxic experience for new comers.

Other than that Gears 5 is a beautiful game and you guys are on the right track!!!

I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional due to tournament alt controller scheme being removed,

I used classic alt controller scheme in the tech test and I notice that when holding run, if at any point the cover button is pressed, it cancels the run, This was not the case on gears 4.

IF at all possible could this be fixed, or an option to toggle through these 2 options, or better yet bring back tournament alt controller scheme.

Bug: Running when not holding run button (Stuck running)

Control Scheme: Classic Alt

Occurred: at random during fights when I was switching between running and bouncing.

No screenshot or video unfortunately. Occurred more than 3 times in less than 5 matches.

2 major issues I have seen:

A team of 5 of us loaded into a Arcade versus match and only one of us got to control a player. The other 4 people were stuck spectating the entire time.

Kill Cam recording cuts out after player gets killed in killcam footage causing everyone to run in a straight line and no other inputs being displayed. I’m sure this is a known issue. It looks like a connection issue.

On original Xbox One.

There’s a bug where i win 2-0 but when the gam ends it states that i lost 0-2 making me loose a significant amount of elo and demoting me every game.

Fix the PC GPU freezing crashes. The game is literately unplayable. I can’t imagine the game being sold on steam considering most people play with 10series graphics cards. I will be buying this game on steam and if it still crashes i’m refunding it.

Everyone on Nvidia cards should send them a dump file when they get another crash.

Easy way to collect a minidump after a BSOD crash.

I will mark as solution so people can have it highlighted and hopefully nvidia can get enough info to finally solve this issue.

I guess the two piece is back. Although i didnt find it necessary at gib range.

It says escalation with weapon picking but when I switch to main the gnasher, it still comes out a lancer!

Oh yea, I went to post it earlier, but the forums didn’t want me double posting, so I was gonna wait until someone else posted in that thread to paste it.
