Gears 5 Tech Test - Bug Reports

2 major issues I have seen:

A team of 5 of us loaded into a Arcade versus match and only one of us got to control a player. The other 4 people were stuck spectating the entire time.

Kill Cam recording cuts out after player gets killed in killcam footage causing everyone to run in a straight line and no other inputs being displayed. I’m sure this is a known issue. It looks like a connection issue.

On original Xbox One.

There’s a bug where i win 2-0 but when the gam ends it states that i lost 0-2 making me loose a significant amount of elo and demoting me every game.

Fix the PC GPU freezing crashes. The game is literately unplayable. I can’t imagine the game being sold on steam considering most people play with 10series graphics cards. I will be buying this game on steam and if it still crashes i’m refunding it.

Everyone on Nvidia cards should send them a dump file when they get another crash.

Easy way to collect a minidump after a BSOD crash.

I guess the two piece is back. Although i didnt find it necessary at gib range.

It says escalation with weapon picking but when I switch to main the gnasher, it still comes out a lancer!

The two things I encountered were

There were a few matches this happened where I tried to pull out a flash grenade and it never highlights the grenade spot but just kept pulling it out only to pull out the shotgun right after

This one I’m calling the Hotel California bug where you can never leave. Got stuck in this match making loop where it would say Can’t find a match would you like to restart over and over but if I tried to leave it would tell me I would be penalized

Bugs I encountered:

1. Game stutters while using keyboard and mouse, and a hybrid setup like half controller and mouse.(an issue for me since I have rheumatoid arthritis in hands)
2. Character sometimes getting stuck in spawn. Had to ask opponents for help with respawn.
3. lag spike when wallbouncing with keyboard and mouse
4. lag compensation not working like in gears 4. gears 4 lag compensation was better
5. cannot see enemies before they kill me. kill cam shows they were right in front. (another issue of lag comp I think)
6. got unlimited ammo on embar when playing KOTH in District map. by unlimited ammo, the embar would reload after the last bullet and there is a full clip. played a whole match like that.

I keep losing game sounds when I play with a headset, the game sound is trying to come through but its scattered “on and off” but its fine when playing via speakers. I need to play with a headset as I’m usually in a party with other players.

Will this work if the game freezes and there’s no BSOD, and you have to hard reset? Or alt-tab into windows? Or will it only generate a dump if it BSOD’s?

EDIT: Also wondering if there is a point to this, since it looks like it’s the same thing that happened with Gears 4 and not addressed in 3 years.

Matchmaking bug. The game started when I was alone in the team, and there were two opponents. Later, another two players added to the team. I was left alone until the end of the game.

I believe bluescreen only, but I can’t speak on behalf of Nvidia.

Yea, you can see stuff like that in the Event Viewer, but not sure that gives the type of detailed info they need/want from a memory dump.

Hmm, just opened Windows Store and it’s in the middle of downloading it rigth now. 1.35GB on PC, it’s updating the Xbox Companion App at the same time also.
