The problem is the map resizing in Gears 3 to accommodate new roadie speed. Gears 1 maps were small and claustrophobic (a good thing).
Regardless it still not a map for any type of respawn game type. I wouldnt trust TC with that map with the way they handle respawns
Ehh blame Epic. They broke the mold with Gears 3 and not always for the better.

Dear TC,
I have a family, I work hard, and a lot, , I have very little “free time”, but when I do, it was playing guardian.
the perfect mode for the perfect game(imho). I really hope you reconsider sooner
rather than later to get this back into ranked. I am also hopeful that when you do bring it back, because you will be,
it will be with the “clutch moment” and the proper points system.

Guardian is fun. And apparently the people still playing this game agree as well because you can find a match in no time. Absolutely nobody plays Escalation. Another head scratcher T.C!

I was so hyped for OP3, till I found out this morning, they scrapped execution! I get that they are trying to boost their new Gridiron mode, but this is the wrong way about it. While Execution may not have the largest player base, I believe it has the most solid player base, a lot of people have been playing execution for 6+years or more in gears title, and is a huge part of the core fan base. Execution is all I really play, because Escalation takes a long time, and TDM is well TDM you know, but Execution (single-life game mode) is literally what literally made Gears multiplayer popular, why remove it, bring it back, only to remove it again?Literally killing the franchise.

And an Execution post should literally be able to be in it’s own thread. Because even though I am talking about OP3, I am not talking about guardian, ornany other game modes… I get the need for organization, but come on, this ridiculous.

Desde la llegada de Gears 5 vino demasiado hate contra TC pero yo siempre defendía cada movimiento que hacían en el juego pero esto de eliminar Guardián realmente es una estupidez es una de las cosas más basura que pueden hacer, en México es uno de los modos más jugados y lo digo enserio más del 80% de mis amigos de xbox juegan guardián y el quitarlo de las rankeds es realmente lo más tonto que se les puede ocurrir TC por mi parte ya no defenderé más el juego y le dedicaré más tiempo a otros títulos.
TC si lo que querían es undir el juego lo están logrando.
Regresen Guardián a las rankeds hagan aunque sea una cosa bien por la comunidad.

Never cared for Guardian personally, although I can’t say I ever had trouble finding games in that mode. I would’ve preferred Dodgeball in place of Execution.
I still don’t understand why FFA wasn’t similar to Judgment. Having fewer players per match and staying within the 5v5 maps.
If they were to remove what we have now I certainly wouldn’t miss it.

Ranked needs to be more compact.
TDM has no place imo because the mode just doesn’t cater to that kind of play.
I would have:
KOTH
Escalation
Giridion
2v2
That’s a good variety.
Plus, it keeps population levels within each mode high enough to match make.
These past few days, it’s the first time I’ve been struggling to find games now.
PC Crossplay is such a barrier because of the toggle - it exists and so efforts need to be made to help ALL the players be able to do that, play.
That’s how I see ranked anyway.
Everything else should be quickplay and Special Events.
It’s good that Execution is taken out, it’s been fun in the original but since then, the game has evolved and moved on.
Annex/KOTH is the all round best mode right now.
I might see how Giridion plays out.
But 2v2 is a good choice for something different.
We kinda have BR in the form of FFA - but I believe it stops short in two ways:
1). Still using inside style maps.
-we need a massive, “outside” style map similar to Fortnite, with less of the Power Weapons being so clustered together and more “Zones” plus buildings to go into and out of.
It’s literally way, way too basic at the moment.
-Playercount needs to be 50 or 100.
But anyway,
Guardian is a fun mode but again, for Ranked play, it’s a mixed bag because matchmaking just doesn’t seem to work at all. So I can accept it’s removal.
Overall,
I would even take Escalation out of Gears entirely but I don’t know the numbers or how popular this mode is. It’s obviously not going to happen as long as the series has it as the main eSports mode.
So you have the two ring modes,
A 2v2,
Plus can always rotate out a mode per Operation, especially if it’s going to be a brand new mode.
Four Modes for Ranked play is enough.
Especially since the playerbase is so split across platforms and uneven around the regions.
I’m sure some will agree, some will disagree, on all or some of what I said.
Just how I see it right now.
I’m sure lots of people will be upset with these changes, but I’m fine with them. I hated guardian in this game (team spawning on the leader is dumb), and execution will still be in privates, and the new gridiron mode is just execution without you being able to camp. So I’m glad. Plus the gears population is already small, so I understand that they need to prioritize populating the popular game modes. If you’ve played up till now, there’s is absolutely no ■■■■■■■ reason for you to stop playing. If you’ve stuck around this long then it clearly shows you have been enjoying the gameplay and whatnot, so I sincerely doubt that one mode was/is the only thing keeping you here. If you try something else you might find the other modes aren’t that bad. Honestly in a way gridiron is a mix between Guardian and Execution, so there’s really not a lot to complain about imo. These changes needed to happen
The only reason my friends and I play gears is for Guardian. First you take away dodgeball, now GUARDIAN??? Gears 5 is officially trash. Was already bad with how you can’t scrap your skins, and just a terrible process of leveling up in general. You will lose so many players, since the gridiron sucks too. Gears has progressively gotten worse year by year, and I’m done defending it. Idiots!

I was definitely disappointed to see Execution absent from the ranked playlist but I guess that’s to be expected. On a positive note , I love Gridiron so hopefully that’s placed in ranked sooner rather than later.
I do have one problem with it though, the Core settings. Now that Execution is gone there’s really no competitive mode available that I personally care to play. I mean unless you want to count 2v2 Gnasher, but that’s a special type of experience. The aim assisted rifles are just too annoying IMO.
When it does come to ranked I’d prefer it to have the comp settings. Execution rules would be cool too.
