9 carts? I think the rest of the world is doing 6 feet or 2 meters. that’s like 2 carts…and that’s for everything…9 carts is like 24 feet. if you can sneeze that far you are probably in the Guinness book of records

I hate ring based play types but, if there is one I like it is Blitz. That’s the more chaotic one. Why Blitz never returned is beyond me.
I agree. TDM killed the execution play mode. TDM gave unskilled or casual players an easier time. A lot of inferior players survived in TDM. When they played execution they’d die first and have to watch.
Warzone/Execution players got punished because of this.
Not to mention for Gears 4 and 5 (especially 5) they neglected it with terrible maps and reused maps from previous games. No good ranking system since 2 and Execution slowly phased out.
Gridiron is cool. No ranked listing though is kind of weird.

Gridiron would be cool if it was ranked. We are in corona lock down. Why take away good execution and guardian while people are locked down ? How stupid. I was actually enjoying execution. More then any other gears as weird as that sounds.

@FUNKDOKTOR the exe population was small but it had the most hardened and veteran players. Most dedicated and original players as well. Gears of war began on execution and warzone, those gamemodes alone built this franchise. It took me a minute and 30 sec to find a game with that “16 player population” there are always execution players buddy. no matter what, it is where the most hardcore and best players thrived, never were there casual tdm or koth payers because they were kids who cry because they can’t hack with the OG gears players. What you said is a sad millenial excuse to get a rid of a good game mode that should of just been left alone to players who whole heartedly love the gears of war franchise and don’t want to see it tainted by a new casual playerbase like yourself .
@FUNKDOKTOR and come on just because you don’t play execution. You can’t talk down to the population because it is their favorite gamemode. What if they took yours away? There were easily 500-1000 consistent exe players every day of the week. That’s good enough to find a ton of matches in short time. Dont be a hater just because you dont care for this gamemode.

Might be an idea to go and establish a Execution and Guardian group there because TC isn’t bringing it back no matter how many petitions people draw up.
I don’t think 500-1000 players is too hard to believe considering G3 Exec back in 2013-2014 had 200-400 players when TDM was sitting around 15,000 or so (after Judgment bombed). That was 2 + years out from launch.
Now I don’t actually think that’s much at all and when you factor in regions, the time you play, cross play disabling and what not, it certainly isn’t. But the people that wanted to play were definitely out there.
I feel Guardian has a way better chance than Execution at this point seeing as it was brought back once already and it wasnt populated. Guardian on the other hand was. There was no reason for it be taken out
Removing a game mode only a couple thousand players played (this was what was said on the dev stream) is not killing the franchise. Loading up a playlist and never finding a match does though.
Gridiron is so similar to execution, just faster pace, I’m not sure why so many execution players are so upset. I disagree that execution alone is what made gears gears.
Majority of my gameplay was guardian then TDM, but I understand why they removed it. GRIDIROn kinda combines the two (execution and guardian) in a way and is pretty fun.
I think the Only complaint I see from it are those that don’t like single life modes, which is not your case.
They mentioned this too. Apparently those dedicated players played the mode for a week and then stopped and started playing other modes. This what they said not me.
And like others posted 1000 players in different regions and pings and times of day made it hard to find good, consistent, and quick matches.
Now they did mention that one issue with guardian was no one liked to be leader and made the experience not so fun (sitting in the back and looking at the map all game) and they were gonna look at the mode as a whole and see what they can do to better that experience. I am looking forward to that.
The guy who developed this has been making gears modes since gears 1 PC. He is a dedicated gears head too. I don’t think any removal of any playlist is taken lightly.
Execution isnt what made this game popular. Gears 1 people played Execution, Warzone, and Annex
1 mode didnt made the game popular. theres a bunch of reasons why this game became popular and Id put the game modes at the bottom of the list. Movement/gnasher/lancer are what made this game popular
It has warzone rules so it combines warzone and capture the flag. Not execution.
Something that does not have exe rules cannot be thought of as a fitting replacement for exe.
