Its in a playlist with 2 other modes that you have to hope people vote for, and people still vote for KOTH… true execution is gone… but Gridiron is the same concept, the flag is just a decoy with alternate objective, but more so a way to make execution quicker and not 40 minute campfests… that said you have a variant of execution… you can literally play it like execution… Guardian you are demoted tona useless social playlist, where you still likely wont get to play it.

I love the absolute chaos of KOTH. Nothing is better than winning a close one, capping the ring when the score is like 175-179…man it gets my adrenaline going.
I’m not convinced Guardian was “underplayed”. After playing a couple rounds of gridiron, its objective is similar enough that the two could/would cannibalize each other…MAYBE. Or at least that might be how TC might look at it. And since they are pretty heavily invested in OP 3 and gridiron, , they probably want.guardian players playing the new mode. Something that simple… Just try and maybe get over the red ■■■. Try a little role playing. Pretend the flag is the “team leader”. Now you are playing guardian again. I get why people that love guardian are pissed. If my go to(KOTH) got cancelled, my ■■■ would be red as well. Very. Just dont cut off your nose to spite your face. I know not the exact same…but gridiron is pretty fun. Especially if the servers can stay up long enough today for people to play. Man its been knd of a train wreck.

Not only that you can only have 3 people in your squad for social.
Also I dont understand why all the Execution players are crying now, TC gave them a chance to make the mode popular but its not anymore. They need to blame Epic for adding TDM and basically killed of single spawn modes.
Guardian on the other hand was a popular mode in 4 and 5 there was no need for it to be removed

Fair points and fair way to look at it… but its still not the same to me, it would be a fun 2nd for me, but its still no Guardian… because you have respawns in Guardian… regardless im just waiting on my slow ■■■ Gears of War 4 to reinstall then I’ll be good
Edit: Though on another note I just thought after your argument and my counter argument… the REAL reason TC scrapped Execution and Guardian… is cause their new mode is basically a combination of them both

I thought I was gonna be happy with season 3 and I still might be with this new flag game but seriously, I’m not sure what is wrong with yall at the coalition, besides all the countless things you deem as passable legit game play, that are absolutely rediculous now your most intricate thought out game type is put together with koth and tdm, I personally cant stand tdm, its brainless as all hell no objective extremely boring, koth is okay but again once you onow how to hold a control point there isnt much to think about beyond that, gaurdian and dodgeball there is a great deal of more skilled involved yet, you have to hunt like a pack of lions trying to push your prey into amd unsespecting trap, now that actually takes good communication and a well thought out plan that changes drastically through out the game as you play, but nah let’s just put this incredible game type with these other boring ones, it’s like you threw away a chess board so we can all play checkers instead, isnt this game supposed to be for a mature audience? I’m gonna play gridiron but as soon as that gets boring I will not be playing this game until gaurdian is moved back into ranked, yall are dumb asf for this one

@KC_JAY_1986 Gridiron would be just as fun if they allowed Respawns, and you played until someone scored. Maybe not have to stand their for 5 seconds. Maybe 2. Or something like that. It woukd be like capture the flag meets guardian meets ffa.

That does sound pretty fun. I think their main intent was they wanted to replace Execution with something similarly paced and methodical though.
I could see there being a mode like the one you described as a special event eventually. “Gridiron Blitz” or something idk. Sounds fun and chaotic.
I’ll +1 for wingman and dodgeball but i’m sorry just cause a mode is original that doesn’t mean it should stick around. If execution has a fan base it’s a different story. Personally during gears 1 and 2 all you had was warzone/execution, king of the hill and guardian. Gears 3 brought team death match and personally not sure why you would keep warzone etc. Single round 1 spawn? Die and have to wait…then rinse and repeat? no excitement at all…That is so blah
I’m not here to bash immediately, I love the fact you brought a new game mode into Gears of War, good work. I think the tour of duty is pretty good as well, could be better but no complaints there. Made it easier to unlock characters, maybe too easy but an improvement. Two new maps, one classic that people love I also like. Here’s my problem. Guardian and Execution taken out of ranked? HUGE letdown guys, I don’t care if they aren’t as played as other game modes, it’s still some people’s favorites. As a fan since Gears 1, I can somewhat get over this but my casual gears friends love Guardian. They now have no desire to play, even in its a lowered played game-mode, I found a solid game within 2 minutes. Also, the new game not introduced to rank right away? Bring them back, this is completely inconsiderate to the community and like it or not you already lost a ton of fans because of Gears 5.

I don’t see the point in having a KOTH+TDM option in Quickplay if it’s already occupying a space on the Ranked side. TC should remove the squad limits(3 max), Bot backfilling and basically replace Quickplay with an UnRanked playlist with everything else that isn’t living up to TC’s population standards.
TC can’t promise to have all these modes in Ranked when they just contradict themselves every time a new mode launches. It happened with FFA and now it just happened with Gridiron.

I agree with many of you. It’s a shame to see both Guardian and Execution removed. Especially Guardian. Both classic game modes.
I just played Operation 3 for the first time tonight. Started with the new Game mode and played a few rounds. Then went to look for Guardian. Not there. That’s pretty much all I have been playing every night for the last weeks and finding matches wasn’t a problem.
The Coalition can add all the bells and whistles they want to this game, but what we ultimately have here is one new game mode, an old map and a new map.
Hopefully they bring back Guardian sooner rather than later.
Until then, Goodbye Gears.

Us guardian players don’t want to play gridiron. I played a couple of games of gridiron and it does not have the same excitement as guardian has.

It’s not my fault a lot of the real players went to go play call of duty Battle Royal, cause even before this update, gears was still buggy, slow, and lacking, I didnt think it would get worse. And most of the hardcore fan base are exe players.

The hardcore players are those that continue to play this game no matter how many issues it has. Playing a specific mode doesn’t make someone more hardcore than the next. Based on your statement, since Escalation is eSports, that would be for the most hardcore players. But no one plays that mode because they don’t enjoy it. And esports is filled with the best and most hardcore players there are.

I played it in a private lobby on pahanu. I really like it.
So I am not rlly used to complain Abt games, but I can’t believe I had hope to play Gears of war again and then the devs just take it away. Guardian is the only game mode I’ve been playing since GoW2 and they just take it away? I don’t wanna play any of the other modes. I stoped playing gears of war when the mobility became slow and trash (Gow 4) I started playing Gears of war 5 again after 3 years because the mobility was fixed and now you come and ■■■■ it again? I don’t wanna play this game anymore. I want all the money I’ve spent on this game back . I want Epic Games Back, gears of war has only gone Down since TC took over GoW
