I already knew that,
Gears 5 is perfect to you
I already knew that,
Gears 5 is perfect to you
I wouldnt say perfect. I dont like the melee, but i just won’t use it. I would scrap it for versus altogether. I also dont like that execution is mapped to B when Y isn’t used for anything.
You can’t fool me with these fake “issues”.
You love it in its entirety
Lol ill tell you what i love in a game. Consistency. Im a calculated kind of guy. I like to know much damage the shotgun will do to me at 1ft, 2ft, 5ft, 10ft, how many lancer bullets to the body down me, how many to the head, to me thats what matters. Weapons always go through post launch balancing. I think the new servers and the new matchmaking will result in more level playing grounds. Whether that helps or hurts me rank wise I dont care. But i can adjust better when i know my point blank isnt going to do 22% damage.
And i also like having one universal tuning. Because I want to play 2v2 and KOTH without having to constantly re-adjust range.
And yet I didn’t see this during the tech test.
Almost didn’t even feel the difference on 60Hz servers.
But I want the opposite first.
A game that plays well, fast and fluid and with a solid feel.
That to me isn’t 5.
It feels way to casual oriented.
Even Ryan said he wants there to be Gnasher duels with strafing and “dancing” rather than bouncing.
And adjusting in 2v2 isn’t even an issue after you’ve played a few matches.
I can and have switched from KOTH to 2v2 and back again consistently game after game - no issues.
The only thing is you have to be closer.
That’s literally it.
I do it all the time too. But it will be easier to not have to adjust. Experience under one tuning IMO will be better. But to me Gears 4 is more arcady since you never know what shotgun you are getting. The shotgun that blows people away from 10 ft away or the one that shoots blanks. I actually had three shots in a row yesterday where no bullets even came out lol. It was interesting to say the least. And I love a lot about Gears 4. So im glad Gears 5 is basically Gears 4 with better movement and more consistent shot registration.
Again,
You love gears 5.
That’s fine.
I’m in the disappointed category so we aren’t going to agree and I’m not trying to convince you otherwise or of anything.
There is no adjustment for me.
I’m ready to play and know what to expect after playing it for so long.
You may need to adjust, which is understandable, however.
So, I believe otherwise.
We had two tunings perfectly suited to the modes and play styles.
Now we have an in between one that’s neither here nor there.
I preferred a tuning that I felt was perfect and worked well.
One for the sake of it when TC is pushing Comp hard on people makes no sense and only takes away from the wider audience.
Gears 4 feels solid, fast and movement has a good skill level.
It’s worth being able to hyperbounce or at least wall bounce quite fast.
That’s pretty much gone from 5.
You can easily strafe for the same effect.
I know exactly what my shotgun is going to be doing - all based on ping.
Low ping and it will work.
Higher ping and it will be inconsistent.
That’s the netcode - and it’s exactly the same in 5.
Sometimes, I point blank people, see all my pellets and it registers a 96-98%.
So many people have said the same.
I hit someone 2-3 times, had a good portion of the pellets hit only to get one shot gibbed.
Gears 5 doesn’t now magically have perfect hit detection.
Again, I’m going to end like I begun this reply,
I’m glad you like / love it.
You’ve made it abundantly clear.
You were one of the first to declare you liked the omen too.
Duly noted.
But almost no one has said that Gears 5 has better movement. Myself included, have stated it’s more clunky, awkward and definitely slower paced. That’s not better in my books. That’s a step backwards when it doesn’t feel fast and fluid like a Gears game.
But you like it, so cool.
And finally,
Shot Registration isn’t magically 100% accurate now. I wish it was. There is still moments that scream BS.
If you’ve only experienced perfect hit registration then I’m happy for you
Getting a 97% or 98% vs 22% on a clear gib in Core is a lot different. If it registers a few % off ill take my chances. But for the most part it seemed that the gib range was pretty small in Gears 5. Everything outside that range dropped off, but again that was my experience and i cant speak for everyone.
All i can base it on is my experience and my style. For me when I played Gears 4 (last night). I wished I was still playing the Tech Test.
And i cant speak for the upper echelon of Ranked and Hyperbouncers. I feel bad for them if they feel like the game isn’t what they want it to be anymore. I hope that they change their minds and find a way to enjoy the game. Or TC can change something that makes them happy.
As far as the Omen. I prefer the new one. I had difficulty focusing center screen mid battle. I dont expect this to be for everyone. I dont mind if there is a toggle option to use the omen. I feel only an advantage using the new omen.
Gears 4 Core Ranked on 5ms any-day over Gears 5.
No issues with registration, again, only on high ping.
I don’t know what to say.
The old omen actually helps with your aim once it appears.
It shows you where the centre screen is in a nice compact omen.
It doesn’t interfere with vision.
Screenshots have been posted.
It’s undeniably less obtrusive. Especially when you look at the amount of screen space it takes.
But again, you liked the new omen from the beginning and you still like it now.
I’m more than happy for you Gears 5 is everything you wished and hoped for
Edit: PC froze while trying to change settings, couldn’t ctrl alt delete or anything! Hooray!
Edit 2: GW502 all the way
Edit 3: Took another benchmark on MEDIUM settings!
Can you please post a bench at the same settings? Sorry to keep asking you, but helps for people who want more frames of reference. Edit: Just on the second bench he posted.
Good question. I would have expected better performance.
I can on Sunday! Wont be home until then.
This is on Gears 5? This tech test is really under optimized. Your CPU isnt keeping up. Not sure how the retail will be.
On top of that the 10 series has known issues with both Gears 4 and Gears 5.
Thanks bud. Sorry to keep hassling you.
Im predicting you will get much better performance given how much your cpu punches above its weight in Gears 4.
I know my cpu was rendering at 130 fps at Medium settings. And average cpu framerate game was 230 fps. And i was about 96% gpu bound. Think average framerate was around 90.
This is the bit I really care about. At 1080P?
