Gears 5 PC Benchmark - Post Yours for Comparison!

It was stock for those tests, so just 5.0 GHz. And my RAM is nothing special either, 3600 16-18-18-38.

The GPU is the Gigabyte RTX 3090 Gaming OC. Got it off Newegg Business a couple days ago for MSRP. I wanted a Founders Edition or a Strix but you saw what happened with the FEs selling out immediately, and I didn’t want to wait any longer for the Strix to release.

Overall, been pretty satisfied with it. I don’t doubt the 3080 is the smarter buy but those are equally hard to find atm.

Due to bots and Nvidia poor’s API that was concurred by bots in mere seconds…

I doubt 3080 10 GB would have a return though as 20 GB is ushering.

Good stuff between!

I want the Strix OC 3090.

It’s definitely the best.

But no idea when stock is coming.

I’m negotiating on the same card you have right now having passed on a Zotac Trinity.

Yeah, this launch has definitely been a bit of a clown fiesta in that regard. I never even got to see the 3080 or 3090 Founders Editions in stock on Nvidia’s website before they were sold out.

I mean if money is no object to you I would personally go for the Strix. I don’t doubt it could beat my card by 10-15% if fully tuned. Only issue is availability. I’ve been hearing mid October for them but you already know that thing is going to sell out insanely fast.

It’s not that much more if you’re already considering a 90.

It is definitely a lot worse price-to-performance compared to a 3080.

However with the 90, £1400 is the RRP, £1600 is the suggested price of the Strix OC, the retailers have added an extra markup for £1700 right now.

And it’s more than just top headline performance,

It’s going to have a lot more power at the low/mid/average FPS.

This is something people don’t realise.

It maxes out 10-20% higher than a 3080 before any OC - but it won’t drop down nearly as much.

Just as important.

Those 10K CUDA cores vs 8K CUDA cores is a big difference to performance overall.

I think if you’re paying so much, the extra is worth it for the best card.

I was going to go Zotac but ASUS this time have used only top quality parts, plus 6x MLCCs.

I’m going to OC the card too, it can draw a massive 480W!

Same, availability is the issue, but I expect this to be sorted Mid-Late October.

If not, November it will stabilise.

An update,

I managed to get a 3090 Strix OC - which is now coming Friday.

My monitor gets here on Monday.

So expect some benchmarks early next week :+1:

Any questions feel free to ask!

@AC_Wireless got a 3090 and isn’t getting great performance with it,

Will be great to see how you get on with it and compare

Interesting,

Will definitely be interested to see & compare the benchmarks!

Can’t wait for Monday!

Gonna share mine because yes

Also… is this game not gpu friendly or it just has bad optimization? lol After the most recent update i have been hitting 98% of the gpu usage.

Nvidia never optimised it because TC cheated with AMD :eyes:

However it’s very GPU intense no matter the system. Even at 1080p!

Ima try some 720p :eyes:

This, TC still seem very new to having a game on PC, and as such have no idea how to properly optimise, for PC at least.

Gears 4 was well optimised though!

I just think 5 was a step up in quality tbh.

Doesnt it still not work on AMD GPU’s?

I’m not sure,

I didn’t know there was an issue with them?

MSI Ventus 3X OC . Not the best 3090 you can get, but still a 3090. Pretty decent results.

GSYNC & VSYNC OFF//UNLOCKED FPS

GSYNC & VSYNC locked @ 141FPS

Benchmark and most of the 90% of campaing run smoothly, but on Versus, Horde and Escape, specialy the first one has huge stuttering randomly, frame rate dips or whatever you call It and is the worst on a videogame along with other kind of issues. maybe because isn’t an Nvidia optimized game.

Much less rain there! Looking great.

Turns out… Aura Sync was the root of all my problems! Thought it was the RAM at first.

Ok one last update! I OC’d the card a little bit on the core and memory. +110/300. Average GPU temp ~55 degrees during benchmark.

Still some CPU(Game) drops here and there, but nothing concerning I don’t think.

I noticed something funny with the 1080p test. After the forest scene, my card decides not to draw over 300W power which is why the FPS drops. Up until the forest scene I get ~190-200FPS.
