Gears Of war will never thrive, it’s too niche a game. I love the franchise and love mainly horde these days, as a versus game it’s dead. The hardcore fans killed it, wanting the same experience over and over. It’s a gnasher fest, which is fine if that’s what you want but the general public will never want that and that’s why it’s dying a slow death. It’s pretty clear no one wants to keep playing the same game over and over unless its a lot more fun and rewarding than gears.
The gain to put in all the time to learn all the movement and shots just isn’t worth the time. When you are losing over and over and over again it’s not even a remotely fun experience compared to losing and learning on other games. There is no variety, it’s learn to use the gnasher or quit.
Judgement had the most accessible MP but they messed it up with COG V COG and splitting the playerbase with DLC. At least it was a fun game to play. This game needs Judgement domination, perfect for 5v5 and as a very average Versus player it was just perfect to learn on. The three points usually meant you rarely went up against a full team and broke you in slowly with 1v1 or 1v2. You rarely run into 4 enemies at once or repeatedly got slain until you quit. Domination with a couple of power weapons is the perfect rookie mode.
As for making content, this is an 18 cert in the UK, adults or my generation of gamer 40+ doesn’t want to sit and watch gameplay videos or other people playing, that’s why they get so few views compared to say a fortnite, where I can see my son and his mates watching as much as they play. They can happily watch hours of their fav streamer, which I find frustrating. Just play the game! I can see why the only stuff that gets major views are tutorials and UP A clips as there’s nothing in the game to teach you this stuff.
This game isn’t a system seller anymore, if it ever was. I fully agree with the reasoning in the youtube video. Gears is just about dead in the UK as a game, the majority play through the woeful campaigns and move along.
