Then why would you be here complaining about a video you’re not interested in? This is like a PvP player who never touches the PvE modes complaining about them or wanting things changed about it or PvE gone entirely without even having any clues what it is about.
It just makes no sense to me. I hate eSports, esp in Gears, about as much as the next guy but I don’t come into this thread claiming how much I want to have it gone and hate it because it’s not an opinion thread about eSports.

It was not a completely serious statement obviously, and there’s a difference between stating relevant opinions and completely derailing a thread different to what’s supposed to be the subject at hand, which was the CONTENT of the video, and not the video itself which a lot of people are getting worked up about.
But you do you. I can already tell by the tone of your response I shouldn’t have bothered trying to bring some reason to the table and kept my mouth shut. You just seem to want to start an argument rather than a proper discussion. I have no interest in such when you’re being passive aggressive and upset over seemingly nothing much.
If the thread ends up getting locked or cleaned up by a senior mod or Sera, you and others will know why. Don’t expect another response if your next one is the same as your previous one.

Ive watched many of @Z_i_i videos and i find what he talks about to be on point with whats wrong with gears and how things have changed so much from gears 1 .
I too dont care for esports, hence i didnt watch this video but i doesn’t make me want to come in here and abuse this guy for something he has a great passion about.
I wonder if some of u ppl coming in here and insulting this guy would do the same if u see some shop selling clothes u dont like?? Like would u actually enter the premises and start throwing insults at the sales person and shoppers???

Keep in mind I am from Australia and we don’t really have much of an Esports scene here and that likely plays a large factor as to why I am not that interested.
At the same point I am not a fan of people essentially having their jobs disappear without a lot of notice.

If we held everyone to that standard then noone would be able to act respectfully without someone pointing out they sent a rude or mean message in 2007 when they were 13. That’s absurd.

How come everyone here hates zii? His 30minute + videos are great fill ins of information that can be missed between twitter, forums, reddit, etc… and he never sits there and tries to make 8 videos on the same character releasing (cough, cough, a certain one who can be seen when standing in front of a light) or ■■■■■■■■ his videos. Perfect to listen to on the ride to work, washing dishes, or doing any stale activity in my day when I’m not playing gears. People hating on the video like they rather be playing gears for that time like you are on gears 24/7 and any other activity gears related cant happen if you could be playing. I dont like watching people play (especially stale modes like escalation, team death match, gridiron, though ziis videos are strait up informational not gameplay unless it’s his gameplay playing in the background. Idk just wierd to see a dying community turn on one of the few content creators this game has left, almost like they are trying to privatize gears for themselves. Most comments here just sound selfish like holy ■■■■. And wow @GhostofDelta2 your Australian, explains the beautiful hair, but I think I have you beat lol

I don’t hate him its just that I don’t like his stand up comedy routines, the way he plays and his propaganda using youtube man .
Other than that I don’t hate him on the other hand I wouldn’t consider him my friend like most of the players in this forum that I have the privilege to make friends and have a tremendous respect to them
When another content creator Domez posted his emotional breakdown video one of the first posts I saw on that was Zii offering him support and compassion. That’s good enough for me, whatever he was before is well before my time but seems like a decent guy to me. A much better plus to the community that half the toxic people I have the miss fortune to run into online.

How come everyone hates zii? EXCEPT FOR @D_A_N_III_3_L because he is love, he is light but yeah I was just referring to the overall vibe of the post, I just think he makes better content than some of the creators (cough, cough, a certain someone who can be seen when light casts on you) and hes somehow stayed passionate about the game which myself included, a lot of people have lost.

I watch his videos & it’s always good stuff.
Sad esports is taking a hit. I really love watching high caliber players go at it.
Gears of war never had a big pro league anyway but it was nice to watch it grow.
Still stand by my reasoning that TC made the game less interesting for veterans that most stopped caring.
Supposedly we had a population of 3 million & TC couldn’t capture them in…
All that dingling for characters , match making, pve character class Really hurt the population…
Gears of War 4 set the tone well, I don’t know why they didn’t take the baton & run. They decided to do something different I guess…
Hopefully in gears of war 6 they learned from their mistakes & make a masterful game where everyone stays with the game & gives our esports teams a fighting chance…
Last time I saw eSports there was 20,000 views, which is good for a gears of war game… but compared to other games it’s just a small fraction…

Yes I’m only 35 but guess what? My life is way too interesting to go on a forum and slag someones thread that i have nooooooo interest in so I’ll just get on with running a business, bringing the kids up to NOT be a ■■■■■ stain on society like you and YES play a bit of gears In between.

I agree & 100% endorse @Z_i_i as my voice , he has a lot of views I think if TC listened would benefit from.
The people who go to tournaments just have the time. I used to go to tournaments & I placed 1st. & all the people I versed didn’t wall bounce or anything… it was so cringe but I was 13 …
Don’t remember my gb but I had a decent record. Over triple digit wins & 30ish losses. I could never leave the house because I was a kid & couldn’t travel anywhere.
Fast forward to now, the scene is way too small for me to dedicate myself to gears of war 5 esports. Domez barely has any money, as I watched his vids, & he’s a legend.
If it was like fortnight or league I’d be playing my ■■■ off forming a team…
But I do this for fun. Money would be nice but If I learned anything from gears of war is that this game can’t really support esports.
It would be nice though… if I can’t be pro it’s nice to know there’s someone who’s living the dream…
@Z_i_i also blames matchmaking & TC poor demeanor towards the game & how they made it less interesting… which I’ve also been saying …
Just so upsetting to know we had 3 million fans & only 1% stuck… Gears of War had a huge chance to capture the fandom…
They need to at least listen to us veterans who know & love gears of war… we’re not getting paid, we’re less than the 1% , & if they listen maybe it will bring back the fans… we know what the game needs because we play this game so much…
