Gears 5 :mostly only in Spanish countries it is above 30 in most played list on xlive

That’s my issue with it. The arguments he presents.

“Stop complaining and play!” How does this even make sense? Why would people unhappy with the game want to play it?

“Posting these threads have become a daily obsession for you people!” posts in these threads daily

Just too hypocritical for me.

OMG, just for fun I went back into these links and in the US Gears 5 is now 32nd (was 29th yesterday),

What’s hypocritical is that it’s ok to constantly bash the game and post negative threads, several by the same exact people, but anyone who shares positive viewpoints on the game is immediately seen as a white knight TC defender and a shill. I’ve seen it here on so many occasions with my own eyes.

The difference with me and those people? They eventually give up and leave this place (good for them honestly), but I decide to stay, and I have no plans on leaving.

So take your own hypocritical advice and get used to it.

Yeah its 32 here in Canada, its falling pretty fast.

The Steam number are still way better but are starting to drop again, was 1700 peak players a few days ago and now is 1200 peak.

Thank you for at least trying to have a discussion, but in that thread I did say Aim Adhesion was a new addition in Gears 5.

I disagreed with your statement that it’s Aim Assist on steroids and I still do. At launch it was bad and extremely noticeable, it is not that bad anymore since the updates.

Once again, my opinion.

Not all the time Link, I mean I have said bad things and good things about the game and not always people label you like that…

Yes I know. It’s typically targeted at those who tend to standout or maybe not share a popular opinion.

At the end of the day we all have opinions and this constant labeling of people is getting old.

Honestly though do you not think that this game is worthy of the constant bashing?

It has had a plethora of problems from the get go and even to this day and when people pay for a product the expect a level of quality control that this game did not deliver.

I personally could not find any redeeming qualities in this title at all but if people are willing to see past the problems that this title has because for them then that is fine but I do not see a problem with being a harsh critic when it is due and in this case it really is.

At the end the customer is always right… ( Basic Customer Service Rule)

To this extent? No. If the game was in the same exact state since launch with zero communication from the dev, then absolutely yes, have at it. I’d be right beside you sounding off.

But the game has seen a ton of updates and improvements since launch, open communication from the developer, and has more promising content on the way. It’s a much better game than it was 2 months ago and will be even better come Operation 2.

Now does that mean you have to like Gears 5? Absolutely not. There are people who have hated every single Gears post Gears 2. It is what it is. You can’t change how people think.

But the constant and excessive bashing of a generally good game that the developer is constantly trying to improve, then labeling anyone who genuinely likes it as a shill? Yeah I don’t stand behind that.

Without trying to be combative here…

Have you seen the amount of people that are posting valid errors , scores not registering correctly on versus, booted players on horde, horde design desicions gone wrong ? … do you honestly think the game is " generally good " .

I mean you spend a lot of time here , You can’t honestly say the game its generally good with all the problems that the game has had since launch… it has been one of the most banged up launches of the game that I’ve ever seen in modern times.

If people are complaining or are not happy with the game or bashing it out its for a reson… I really think that people would rather have a good time playing that exposing here the situations on the game that doesn’t really work.

it comes down to everyone likes different things… No matter what the do, no matter what they change, there will always be someone who’ll like it and someone who’ll hate it… It seems like there are more people who “hate it” than those who “love it”…

It’s not black and white…

With GoW4 I loved a LOT of the game play, and I hated a few elements (Core gnasher, super short respawn timers on power weapons, etc).

with Gears 5 I love a few things (I like the gnasher’s dropoff, even if I don’t like its gib range or mag size; the increased respawn timers on power weapons, etc), and I just absolutely hate almost everything else (lancer tuning (yes, even after the nerf), damage omen (yes, I know they are working on it), movement (yes, I know they are looking at changing that), the overactive aim assist (but that’s combined with lancer tuning), the knife melee (yes, even after the nerf, still no delay between shot and knife), chainsaw changes, etc…

I don’t attack anyone for having a different opinion, and there are some other people who have different opinions than me on some issues whom i actually greatly respect (like @mike_yaworski ) , but I ABHOR those (and I’m talking largely about TC here, not anyone in this conversation!!) who purposely misdirect conversation to bypass addressing the complains and try to re-phrase the issue in such a way as to make the person making the comment seem unreasonable (“but aim assist has always existed in gear, what are you talking about?”) or completely totally ignore the underlying issue (“we’ll give you a toggle so you can turn YOUR aim assist off”)…

But, can we please not have personal attacks on individuals within this conversation, please… yes, we all love the franchise, passion can affect what we say (I’m guilty of that myself), but let’s not personalize these comments… please…

I think this will always be a very subjective issue. As you say the game has had tons of updates and for you that is a good thing but for me that is a bad thing as it shows to me they did play test it or do their due diligence.

My point is people will always see the same act in a subjective way. I personally believe that all of gears 5 has been handled so bad and pretty much for the worst reasons, hence I do not play it any more.

I believe the only thing we can do is to is present our cases with the relevant facts with out it becoming personal. I think I have done a good job at that, I have my reasons for hating this game and talking about it poorly and I will always back that up but its pointless and lazy to start throw around ad hominems.

Very well said.

I’m aware of the technical issues the game has suffered since launch. I’m not blind to them. Everyone experiences different technical issues.

In my experience with the game, and the same for my friends, there hasn’t been anything game breaking. Annoying? Yes. (For example the Silver Surfer, this crap grinds my gears and it’s ridiculous that it hasn’t been patched yet). I play with the same group twice a week. We all enjoy the game.

But a broken game? No. I’d be a liar if I said it was.

Unfortunately it’s hard to take this seriously when the Gears community is historically known for hating new entries and being all over the place with their opinions.

Ok Link… I mean I have to disagree on that but you’re entitled to have your opinion

I don’t think so … I think that people here haven’t changed their position on how they thinks… the same people that hate Gears 5 its has been the same for a couple of months… For me I observe that is consistent like a good Database always throwing the same numbers.

I believe I have done a good job of being relatively balanced as well with my viewpoints, but unfortunately anything remotely positive here is immediately shot down.

There is a massive bias.

Hmm… ok, a nice break from what other thread, let’s see what my thoughts are…

Ok, from a purely technical point of view there are a few problems in this game:

  1. can’t tell who’s in your squad, even as squad leader, a lot of the times,
  2. when matchmaking a lot of times we get booted to the main menu, but still stay in the squad, and thus are unable to vote on the map,
  3. people getting booted from the game

Does that make the game “broken” from a technical point of view… I donno… I’d say "no’… it has problems, and bugs, it’s not perfect, but you can load it up, you can play, a lot of the times it works pretty well, technically (EDIT: on the xbox. I don’t know the problems on the PCs).

From the gameplay point of view: it depends what people want/expect. I wanted an improved GoW4 gameplay mechanic. As such, the gameplay is TOTALLY and COMPLETELY broken for me… but THAT is a subjective issue, and everyone will have their own opinion, based on their own preferences…

TC is a business, they want to appeal to the largest number of players… They tried it at launch, it appears that failed, now they are trying to change…hope it works… Hope they will bring (back?) more players than they lose, with changes from now on.

Yes @Omen_LP from checking the purely technical side of view… yes its broken , a game never should behave like that. Its pathetic that such game like Gears with a team like TC happens this kind of things.

Correct I expected the same… so the game its broke … howveer on 4 when I play it feels fixed that meaans only once thing… Gears 5 was changed so much that ended up being something else.

They are going to try that… to fix the broken game and while at it trying to get back the loyal playerbase … it depends on them. they still have the chance.

I respect your opinion, but let’s be honest…

  • Gears 3 releases and people say it’s too cartoony, that the Retro and Sawed Off ruined the game, and that it’s designed for noobies.

  • Gears 4 releases and people say it’s the worst Gears ever and that TC ruined the franchise. Horde classes are hated and people absolutely bash the loot box system (and rightfully so). Now Gears 3 is viewed as the greatest Gears game of all time. Gears 4 would go on to be hated for years to come.

  • Gears 5 releases and now takes the crown for most hated Gears ever, and would you believe it…people are now PRAISING Gears 4, even to the point of requesting the loot box system back!! Complaints of visuals that are too colorful and not dark enough (Gears 3) and weapons that are too OP (Gears 3), etc etc.

You can’t tell me this isn’t true when I literally lived through each phase.

The Gears community is one of the most inconsistent and hard to please fanbases I’ve ever been a part of. So taking a lot of the criticisms seriously around here is hard to do.

Of course this is unrelated to actual bugs and technical issues, or things that flat out dont work well (such as the OP Lancer, Aim Adhesion, and Melee, all which have been improved).
