So the UK top 50 list has, for whatever reason, been a UK top 49 list for a couple of days now. Gears 5 was in that 49th spot, now it has dropped out of the list.
Iād say OP4 cannot come soon enoughā¦except Iām yet to see any gameplay updates for OP4 and the core gameplay is the biggest issueā¦

I would be curious to know if that represents more people playing and enjoying the modified PvE, or the modified PvPā¦ Personally I think PvE is much better than it used to be, and PvP is just as bad (in different ways), but thatās subjective and personal, I would be curious about the general player number breakdown.

the gears 4 with all the overwhelming criticism was always between 22 to 25 the 5 gears with everything in their favor managed to stay behind the predecessor kkkk
Surely itās just Hivebusters DLC and gamepass. Almost all of my friends that are not from this forum played Gears 5 campaign and then never picked the game up again (uk). I saw lots of them playing it again for a day when the DLC dropped and will never play again unless more campaign drops.
None of them are interested in pvp and wonāt play pve because of the grind. Honestly I donāt think in the uk itās anything to do with better pve because none of those people that gave up on it are going to come back because of op5 and start grinding cards.
Despite OP5 and despite the UK going into another lockdown itās much harder than it used to be to get PVE games in Masters for me than it was 4-6 months ago. From 9am GMT to 6pm ish itās not worth me logging on unless Iām catching people up late from the US. Escape is the same, nothing but 2-5 lobbies running surge.

No, Iām saying there is a lot of players returning after not playing for 12 months to do the DLC and then going again. They wonāt stay for versus, they just play for campaign and story.

Yeah, there is no doubt that the grind of character leveling up and card unlocking was pushed to greater heights here than in any Gears title before.
We are over a year after launch, i play Horde on a regular basis, and even after finishing a few ToD with the relevant GC gains, i have ONE character where i play with all level 6 cardā¦ One! Gunner. And only because i dont use any of its Gold cardsā¦
The introduction of Gold cards and their associated cost , plus the dilution of cards (by comvining escape and horde cards into one pool)means the grind to max out any character is justā¦ Ridicoulousā¦
I have IRL friends who play Horde 1-2 times a weekā¦ They dont have any characters even close to maxā¦ A year after launchā¦
Either they really underestimated the grind, or it was intentional in a mistaken belief that being forced to mildlessly grid somehow makes people want to playā¦
I could not recommend this game to any new pve focused playerā¦

Yep I have a group of friends who do evenings of games from game pass. Because of the PVE grind Gears is not considered ever, they are good gamers and donāt want grind through easy runs when they used to play horde at the highest level on previous games. The grind completely locked out the players who would do a handful of pve runs per week.
And now even with more frequent players itās annoying because people are picking for the good of the team, they are picking for levelling to 20 and wonāt budge from the one they are working on next. Iām guilty of that too.
lol, yeah, I knowā¦ Iām lucky in that the people I usually play with online are varied, so there are always classes we need which people are levelling upā¦ so we never lack something we need because of thisā¦
I got the classes I like to play to 20 (pilot, gunner, tactican (NO GL SPAM!!!), and nomadā¦ for ā ā ā ā ā and giggles I also did veteran (who is still fun) and demo (who isnāt fun anymore to me), but thatās it for meā¦
