Gears 5 is now incredibly popular! and well reviewed!

Same here, although I’m close to leaving, but that’s mostly due to lack of new maps and the ranking system, not necessarily due to the gameplay itself.

Well, if that interpretation of the situation is correct then TC succeeded in their goal: create a generic, bland shoooter game which has nothing to do with the franchise beyond surface level cosmetics. One which appeals to the masses, who found the previou titles’ learning curve and skill gap too much of a challenge.

Well done, business mission accomplished.

There’s plenty of learning curve and skill gap in GOW5. The skill gap doesn’t necessarily come from turning on Alt controls and mindlessly smashing the cover button 100 times per second like the GOW3/4 clingers want, but it’s there.

They removed my review too after the Beta part and then they removed the one off the normal Gears 5 game version. I then posted one on the Ultimate Edition and it is still there now finally. They did do that on the xbox store I ya :frowning:

I left a 1 star due to how awful the games been. You can definitely tell the game was rushed to meet the demands of the Terminator movie. Lack of characters at launch. Characters in previous games now locked behind crappy grinding challenges to try to get people to buy them. Still no Gears 2 curb stomp since the community blasted them on trying to charge 5 freaking bucks. I fully get they got a business to run. The loot boxes and how they been handling everything gives off that E.A vibe. It doesn’t make sense to me that nothing can’t be earned in the game at a fair challenge. For example. To get a Kantus. Do like 400 plus revives or something. And add additional challenges to unlock additional costumes, weapon skins cosmetic etc. For the better execution moves, and cosmetic stuff. They should do like 5000 revives must play as a certain character etc. Its slightly better after the update. They got a year to go before it feels finished. However if they continue to handle the progression system the way they are plus ignoring the fans. They will continue to lose fans.

MS will be able to manipulate the numbers and eliminate negative comments, but it is now undeniable that most people did not like that garbage called Gears 5.
See where it was in a survey about which is the best game of the year:

How can you be a crybaby if you are a new player? How could you not know how to be competitive in versus and be the reason for “all this change” if you are brand new to the franchise and the changes were implemented for the release? Not after the release . Not because new players were being crybabies… I don’t follow your thought process?
For the record, I’m a fairly new player. Started with gears 4. And I’ve never once whined or cried to TC to implement changes. I’ve learned to wall bounce and slide. Am I an expert? No… Did I ask for the Devs to change the game for me? No…Im not really sure a lot of people did. I think TC made some changes trying to expand there player base and based on changes to video game monetization.since Gears 4. Hard to get new players to stick around for any amount of time if they are gonna get their teeth kicked in all day long. Should they have done things at the expense of veteran players who have been loyal? No … …But you should try to understand that their only intention was to get new players. And you have to understand how that makes business sense. If you are standing still, you wont ever go anywhere. Being stagnant isnt good for anything.
I kinda think at this point people are just ■■■■■■■■ just to ■■■■■. The game imo has made lots of improvements to movement. It feesl pretty fast. Change to Alt if you haven’t. The one thing I think TC should have caved on already is horde and the Locked characters and fabricator restrictions. If thats what the base wants, let them have it. At least in Custom. I dont get what the big deal is with changing that…But besides that, once the hit reg got better, ive had fun with it. Tl/dr

I still don’t get it. Movement is pretty fast now. You can wall bounce. You can slide…what makes it low skill. I see plenty of skill on display and plenty of wallbouncing? I dont see people just standing still firing a black powder musket ball, then reloading without moving. You either keep moving or you die. Besides Horde being opened up, and complaints about cosmetics, WHAT IS IT? WHY IS IT A " GENERIC SHOOTER" To Me, their isn’t anything that replicates it or its “necessary skill”. If this game is generic, give me the other ones that I can plug and play instead that will give me the Gears mechanics ? Not COD. Don’t give me that one. To me, thats a generic shooter. Rainbow 6 siege. Kinda generic.

Played the game for 2 months on PC with the Ultimate game pass deal. Campaign was barely enjoyable enough to finish, escape was boring, horde is a mess. Never cared about mp in gears much as I don’t enjoy the gnasher gunplay or multiplayer games with power weapon pickups on the map. all that could have been overlooked if the technical issues were even addressed by tc. I made a thread about my technical issues seeking help shortly after launch and tc deleted the thread entirely. The technical issues could also be forgiven if the progression/unlock/mtx system wasnt complete greedy BS. They promised it would be more consumer friendly than the garbage loot boxes from gow4 and they figured out a way to make it even worse without loot boxes. Gears of War franchise is dead to me until they wake the hell up.

ok, and if I tell you that I don’t wall bounce, what do you say then ? Seems like anytime anyone complains or points out the dozens of issues the standard response from fan boys is "duhh… wall bouncing isn’t skill… " Even when the complains have nothing to do with wall bouncing

You don’t see me saying “where’s the skill in spraying bullets from an auto aim lancer from an elevated cover at slow moving targets” whenever anyone says they like G5…

With all the updates the game is way better maybe thats why. But im not surprise that many people still find things to camplain or completely ignore everything tc has done to make the game better. they just enjoy ■■■■■■■■ on games l, thats the new era of gaming, get on The internet and burn games to the ground.

Any good momentum this game gets, the haters want to crap all over it its sad really. But thats the new era of gaming. The internet is full of people who enjoys burning games to the ground.

My only issue is the right stick. If I wanna look up then that means I wanna look up I don’t wanna look down. I looked up for a reason. Same as if I look down I wanna look down not up. Other then that… I like the game… I got it day it came out but unfortunately do to that right stick issue I played it all that one day and only picked it up 2 or 3 more times since then… I have no other issues tho… at all… just the right stick control

What a load of codswallop.

I’m sure he forgot how to tie his own shoelaces too.

I rated this game low due to the constant issues with hit detection and inconsistent gib range (along with sponging). It’s far worse than it was in gears 4, and has got worse since the update.

My review is also gone, and I’ll be leaving it another low score until they fix this nonsense. It makes the game frustrating to play.

You probably deleted your negative review due to the post-launch improvements and just forgot about it.

Yep, that was it. I also forgot my gender, age and the country I live in :rofl::rofl::rofl:.

I enjoyed the sarcasm there :+1:

That’s the perfect definition for Gears 5: it’s a frustrating game to play.

Good momentum…not sure bout that…beleive the store is working fine though

*Zips up flame suit *

I gave it 5 stars because I usually have zero problem in Horde and Escape, nearly all the time. Campaign was good too.
