true on the claw, but at the same time if the lance is in the middle of the map, it would still be on equal distance from both spawns, but I think my post still got across, there’s a lot of problems in this game and I don’t get how they still let the game out the door.
Hell the T-500 gives me a mini panic attack when I hear it.
Most times the fight on Vasgard is for the freedom lancer. Also theres a smaller fight for the breaker mace while someone usually gets the claw with little to no problems.
And yes theres still a bunch of issues and the game probably could have used another 6 months before release. But I think MS rushed this to get a first party title out to compete with other big name games
Minus the bugs the game is getting hate for changes just like every other Gears on release. If this was the first entry I dont think the hate would be the same
Imagine buying a $70 game, loading it up, and seeing F*CKING ADS for their in-game store. You then open up the store and see character skins for $10, Terminator characters for $25, and weapon executions fo $8.
This game has to be the biggest slap in the face to consumers I have seen in a long time. You would expect sh*t like this from EA or Activision, but now it’s completely corrupted the Gears franchise.
So much content has been stripped from the game, and hidden behind a paywall or that annoying ToD system.
You know there’s a difference between plenty of content and grinding right.

There are IN FACT loot boxes everytime you log in, you are rewarded a supply drop that gives you a random item from a pool of otherwise unobtainable items. Uhhh this is a lootbox in fact worse than a lootbox as we get a single item instead of several items from the GOW4 style boxes.

And how bout all that lucrative awesome items we have to unlock in the tour of duty system? Emotes that take the realism out of one of the most gritty realistic scifi shooters ever, bloodsprays you can’t even notice in game and why should you? Who cares? Banners, executions- an item that once was free inclusion in older gears games. Bonafide garbage.
The tour of duty was hyped and praised and is probably the biggest problem in gears5 right now among many many other serious issues.
Don’t even get me started with thr store either. That is like a piece of dried up dookie on a hot summer day that when you purchase something like delivery driver mac, or chrome steel its like you stepping on said dried up turd only to ooze out more creamy dookie like a damn lava cake lololol

Well they aren’t. You can’t pay for Supply Drops (Except for getting it more often with boosts). Plus you only earn one thing, not multiple like in a “pack.”

The ToD is trash bro, filler content galore. I mention cosmetic items because it’s a huge feature that has been here since GOW3, int hat game if you wanted something like a weapon skin you could buy it for $0.99 but in 2019 we have a store that features garbage items for $20.
The ranking system is BROKEN. It rewards players who lose, anf punish those who play obj, and agressive even winning the game, MVP, positive KD and still managing to lose rank pts.
In a game that mocks its own horrible gnasher tuning from GOW4 on the map district with a soda poster that reads “83% pure” knocking the 83% hits that should have been 1 shot gibs anf TC knew it and tried hard to change…is back and worse in gears 5 often giving players 99% on 1 hit…98% on multiple hits etc. Quite frequently. A lancer that used to require skill and precision in GOW4 turned into a noob friendly Lazer cannon on gears 5. They already had to nerf flash’s so I won’t hit on that.
And finally horde mode that already wasn’t much better from Gears4 aside from new character abilities…still no locust/Lambent, characters are locked with abilities which is also why TC admitted they will be drip feeding new characters as they setup new abilities for the new ones.
I could go on and on MANG. But I’ll stop stomping a deadhorse. To us OG gears fans who have watched this franchise slowly decline snd regress, this game is trash.

The way the new characters are unlocked are stupid, and lazy. T.C can seriously do a better job. The limited character roster is so half @@@ed. If people don’t purchase the special edition. They have even less characters. If they didnt do the Gears 4 challenges. They are limited even more. They need to bring back the fan favorites. They should fo a poll of every Gears character that has been in previous games. The more popular they are. Make them harder to get. But do it by playing the game. Make mini challenges. For example. Onyx guard. Play every game type 100 to 500 times. Must get 25,000 kills. 5000 revives, get MVP 400 times. Stuff like that. Cog medic. 2000 revives. For different color armor. Do additional challenges. Same for weapon skins. For executions. 2 different sets. One for kills. One for actual executions. Make them extremely brutal for the more bad@@@ ones. Make it so you have to get like 50,000 plus kills or something. This iron weekly stuff just ruins the game. For specific special skins armor taunts etc. Make specific schedule events when you have to play for a month. And make them exclusive. By changing it up this way. It would bring more people on. Gears 3 was a step in the right direction for unlocks. This really feels like a E.A move. And last I can seriously think of 5 different execution moves for each weapon in the game. Some eh. Some brutal as hell. And they seriously need to bring back the arm rip for Swarm/Locust. To one up on it. Have them do a double arm rip. If 2 players are near a down Cog player. Have both have the ability to rip both arms off to beat the crap out of them. Or have 1 swarm have the ability to rip both off. For even more brutal executions. Have the Swarm have the ability to rip the legs off and start beating them. I can think of 3 additional executions at this point as well. Seriously I can give a detail list for executions. Also you gotta bring back the classic curb stomps. I hate how you have to switch out your long execution for the curb stomps. If enough people on this thread want to hear a detailed list of additional executions. I’m more than happy to make one. For bonus xp for the team plus special unique taunts. Have each team play as a specific unit. For example. Cog team. Xp bonus good old delta squad. Marcus Dom Cole Baird. Swarm Raam with Theron guards. By doing this you can add additional unlocks for armor weapon skins taunts execution moves etc. In game challenges are much more rewarding vs what’s going on right now. Let’s see if they take this under advisement.

I uninstalled Gears 5 after winning 5 straight matches of TDM with a KDR over 1.50 and watched my ranking go from Top 10% Silver 1 down to Top 80% Bronze 3… WTF. It seems the ranking system broke even more after the update.
On top of that, I was booted from 3 matches in the last two weeks. The matches froze up, players start running into stuff and then I got booted and suspended each time for 15 minutes. I have the best internet available, hard wired, top 3 ping every match, my internet’s not dropping so why am I being penalized for their crappy servers?
I’m all for penalizing people who quit matches, but penalizing people because the servers aren’t working properly? That’s absurd.
Between this type of stuff and all the micro transactions, I’m done with Gears 5 for the foreseeable future. There’s too many other good titles coming out this fall. I’m not wasting my time on a game that was released while still requiring a minimum of 6 more months of development time.
Great job on the video really enjoyed it, wish you would’ve talked about the overpowered lancers, horrible maps and the bad movement. Other than that great video shared with a couple of my friends as well. I’ve really been enjoying gears 4, Almost been a week now once I quit playing gears 5 feels good
I dunno. I still say 5 is about as good as 2.
Horde alone was a billion times better on gears 2 and gears 3. Not sure what they were thinking on gears 4 horde, as someone who spent more time on horde mode than anything else on 2 and 3.
Gears 4 horde was boring to say the least and I only started playing it to do the gears 5 challenges.
Gears 5 horde is a worse version of 4 even down to using the same exact starting round noise alert from GOW4 and to me that is hella annoying.
And whoever came up with escape is just weak. Its a bad game mode too similar to horde but worse in every way and flatout boring with new unknown dumb characters.
Unlike Gears 2, I was actually able to shoot straight at launch.
All the entries have had pros and cons. Some were superior to others. Remember, it took nearly a year for Gears 2 to become playable. With like 6 major title updates.
I won’t even bother talking 3 and 4, because I never mentioned those to begin with.
Does 5 have problems? Definitely. It’ll eventually be fixed, just like the others, and when 6 comes out we’ll repeat this process with people pining for the days of 5.
