everytime I play gears 5, I feel like I’m watching something I love turn to dust, how people defend this game is beyond my mortal understanding.

I’m a Gears diehard 06 vet blah blah blah…
But I can see the good and bad about this game. And while I havent experienced most of the problems a lot of people are posting about I know they exist. I’ve had less problems with PvE lately and have been playing those more because of it.

Ah friend… I am an '08 Vet. Although I’m not sure if you’re referring to me or yourself.
Yes there are a lot of upsides…but outnumbered in my mind compared to the downsides.
I was referring to myself. I’m so tired of seeing post that start with an 06 vet, have all other achievements and whatever. At the end of the day if you’ve been playing since day 1 or only 1 day if you bought the game you should have a voice

here’s a list of things that happened (or is happening) that led me to this.
- We had two betas before the game comes out, people say the severs aren’t that good (witch to be expected, a beta is well was more or less to test the game and get feed back.) yet on launch the severs failed to stay up even keeping EU players trapped in U.S severs, however the shopped worked for the most part.
2.Severs go down (or if your offline) most modes are locked.

Aim assist is heavy in this game when center screen aiming Or light aim assist was way better ( if the marker isn’t on my head and you fire, you missed.

Gnasher battles feel bipolar due to dancing around gib range.

having classes locked onto skins killed freedom of play (play how you want Vs look how you want, gears 1,2,3,j and 4 didn’t do this)

the price and grind requirements for new skins are unreasonable.
6.the prices in the shop are ballshit (I did the math once and found out just how much you’d end up paying if you want to buy the whole shop and or just parts of it does anyone else here have 168 dollars for everything to 15 dollars for all dryly items? on the day I did the math)
7.Matchmaking (in ranked) sucks I feel like everyone got dropped in silver and now it’s a mash pit.

The new weapons push rifle play or are just placed like someone stopped caring (like Vassgar, why is the lancer GL NOT in the middle of the map and have two claws, one where the lancer gl was, and one where nades are?)

Weapon Substitutions don’t shake up map play (if a sniper is one spot, it will be subbed with another sniper and same for boomshot and drop)
10.how are you going to hype this up as the best gears to date and yet the game only has 4 modes and they aren’t fun to play?

That’s true. I can see the moment of credibility they may consider, I’d trust a woodworker of forty years more than a woodworker of three years with a saw however.
But this is a video game. We all play them. After even a month of playing, you can criticize Gears 5… I think the problem is that a majority of people complain about 5 in relative to the rest of the franchise…and not the game on it’s own.
But that being said, if Gears didn’t exist and 5 was the first in the franchise–I don’t think it would do as well as the original trilogy from a market standpoint.

The freedom lancer is in equal distance from both spawns. Also having 2 claws would be OP especially if 1 team got both
MS is the issue, not TC. Ms comes up with the om promotion stuff. Ms pushed deadline. Ms is the server host. Things tc can’t do anything about.

I’m sure TC still has a strong hold on the franchise, a bigger hold than you’re giving them credit for.
I dunno even if this was the 1st entry I think it would actually do good because even to this day theres really no game that does 3rd person like Gears.

Well with this much hate? I’m not too sure. It might get a sequel but especially if it didn’t have the marketing or support of MS and had to stand on it’s own I could see it falling into obscurity.
