I switched over to borderlands for awhile. Thanks for the heads up man. Borderlands ran fine online, so not sure what it was.

Iām indifferent to this game. There are some things they did okay, and there are some very questionable decisions. I am a die-hard fan, itās one of the reasons Iām still here.
However, that doesnāt mean that the game is great, or even praiseworthy. Itās not. The servers are down today again, there are still glitches in MP and Horde. However, even though the servers are down, by golly the store is still up.
This game is really not a good show of faith for TC on keeping the series going. I do think that they need to fix what theyāve broken or be replaced by people that can. Fact is, Campaign was decent, not great but decent. MP is not the greatest and it feels like they learned nothing from before and started fresh. Escape is okay at best, but they need more tilesets and more characters. Horde is pretty much meh, it really is. The class system gets me down big time and Iāve tried to like it, I really am trying, but itās so hard to when itās not what Horde is meant to be. There are four characters that EVERYONE wants on horde and nobody else. Those are JD, Del, Jack, and Kait. Itās not freedom, itās not interchangable, itās not great.
You can like the game, but donāt put words in other peopleās mouths and say Us oldschool gearheads because I am oldschool and I donāt really care a lot for this entry. It is, Iād say, the weakest of all of them.

Evidence speaks for itself. Their target audience with Game Pass was always going to be those who play the campaign and move on, just as it was with previous games based on achievement stats. Their attempt to monetize the game with microtransactions is the only incentive they have for improving the gameās multiplayer modes. But they got greedy: the launched an unfinished game and are being slow to make up for it, hence the title of this thread.
If they truly listen to the community, they would acknowledge it. TC blatantly ignore concerns raised on this OFFICIAL forum - even multiple threads and posts on the same issues with thousands of combined views. It simply isnāt in their interest to retain players who arenāt interested in paying silly sums of money for some of the most useless and lazy cosmetics ever to appear in a video game

You can not speak for large groups of people claiming to know what they are thinking, then add your own opinionated logic to form conclusions about why the player base is shrinking.

Really? Iāve been playing since Gears 1. Iāve played more GOW than probably most people on this forum, and I love this game. But how can that be? According to your threadā¦ I donāt like it. You donāt speak for me or any other Gamer except yourself.
You state these opinions as if they are cold hard facts. Which they are not. They are based on your opinion and those opinions stated on this forum.
Almost all people that come to forums do so because they have a complaint. You donāt get the others that are perfectly happy with the game.

Throwing around the fact that you are in software development and acting as if your opinion is absolute fact in all matters video game may work on the majority of the younger inexperienced members of this forum, but does nothing to impress me. Self appointed experts are in reality anything but experts.

I mean post launch sure.
In terms of the lead-up, there was nothing. They rolled into E3 with two trailers. Their marketing was horrible and compared to a normal MS flagship, it had none of the heat.
only you and 5 other people including the developers like the game, only reason you could play gears of war 3 was because of the sawned off. Thatās why 5 is aimed at you

Game is for casual players. Idk any decent player who likes this watered down pos. Some force themselves to play it just because itās gears but not me.
Back on topic it is pretty funny seeing it as the most played game on the dashboard. Itās definitely not lol

u can see on the swarm they really bad compared to the locus looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.
multiplayer lead designer needs to leave , he has no clue on wat gears of war is about , maps r super weak design n perfect lancer fest , gnasher is the worst from all the gears games super inconsistent the reload system is bad on the gnasher , damage system was designed by amateurs n etc

TC might not be the correct dev. But truth be told, itās Microsoft thatās making the calls. Freedom of development isnāt really accurate. Microsoft funds them with āexpectationsā or rather demands. And on top of that, the game is hosted on the azure MS servers. Which is the reason why the game has connection issues. Look at yesterday for example, it wasnāt just gears 5 that had issues. Halo 5. Rainbow six. Issues too.
Thereās a lot of things out of control for TC. Just like these weird ā ā ā crossovers. Thatās all MS.
This isnāt defending TC, this is pointing out the real issue. MS, a huge company, not caring about their own products. Even their windows 10 latest update has issues with cyber security that just got published.
Donāt know what theyāre doing, but theyāre messing up quite a bit. And I feel bad for TC that theyāre getting all the blame

Something got lost along the way on creating Gears 5, that all the good points that 4 had were completely destroyed into this new game, and now nothing its left that a bad version of a Gears game, worst than Judgment.

Thats what i like to hear, they are either completely out of touch with gears players or they just dont care, and it is sad to think it is the second choice, but most likely is, I laugh at the thought that they think for 1 minute im going to play through a tour of duty sytem which has 5 skins and a crap ton of useless junk, im not grinding for a stupid cog character that has no sentimental value to me, they are absolutely stupid!

Welp, itās their loss because the campaign is much better than 4ās, escape is fun and we might have the best iteration of horde yet. (My main mode of play)
I suppose they did kind of pull a Destiny 2 and Fallout 4 by taking one step forward and two steps back.
Is there a population number that someone has worked out?
Or is there a way of working that out with the games on the list?
