They took out a core aspect of the game because they couldn’t fix the issues associated . They destroyed a major part of the game and in doing so have caused me to completely quit and uninstall this game. It was a fun thing for me and my husband to do together one of the few games that still offered a challenging split screen mode. I’m not going to be made play with noobies in social play because of cry babies. This would destroy my experience. Not to mention Gears was supposed to be a team game and now they are further discouraging that. Forget you coalition! You are a disgrace to the gears franchise!

I didn’t know splitscreen was removed from ranked.
The problem, however, is that a lot of guests have never played a Gears game before, so they’ll cause a lot of de-ranks for their team. I’m pretty sure this whole forum hated it, so they listened to the community.
Being mad is understandable but surely you see where they/the community is coming from for being anti-split screen.
90% of the time, the split screen player is off in some random corner of the map shooting into the sky…
Better restriction would have been simply a minimum level so lv1 guests can’t play ranked

Guests can level up.
True but that means they have more experience so they’re not shooting the wall as much 
This would’ve been bypassed by having a high levelled friend invite Level 1 guest to Ranked.
I thought of that, but then since its a guest account, anybody can have access to it.
Tbh i wouldn’t be surprised if they just removed split screen completely
Not sure about this one. The problem isn’t new players in ranked. The problem is that the matchmaking system constantly puts new players in matches with vets and above.

Agreed, but I don’t think the playerbase is big enough to put silver vs silver, diamond vs diamond etc…

Dude, part of that is the player’s fault. Like how you constantly beg to be in my all-star squads and then bring the whole team down by getting 6 elims in an 3.5 round koth game

Ranked needs eliminations removed and bring back kills and assists on the scoreboard.
You need bigger delays for the melee in ranked.
The level restrictions are nice but you should also limit people from playing ranked until they complete a certain number of Quickplay (NOT co-op vs Ai) matches during that said level up time so newcomers are familiar with the maps and flow of each game mode. While we’re at it, it needs to be a certain number for each game type. For example, you’ve only played enough KotH you can’t just jump into Guardian ranked.
Lastly, I play a Gundam game on PS4 and if someone quits and you lose because of the quitter you will not rank down at all. This needs to be implemented as the number of quitters still hasn’t been deterred with the quit penalties. Maybe those penalties need to be even more severe.

I completely agree. The reason why we bought the game was to be able to play split screen. We each have our own accounts and my family, 4 siblings have been playing this game since the franchise started. We are all adults who use split screen in order to make it easier to play. I have 2 nephews who have learned how to play the game since they were 1 , they’ve played all the gears games. They’ve learned the game and they have played their entire life. They are now 10 and 7 and they can take on many other players. This will also affect them. I’m not purchasing another Xbox, or spending more money to be able to play with my husband when we are in the same room! If the franchise won’t accommodate for people like us then a refund is in order.
The issue is that they need to be able to improve the matchmaking system; this is not the solution. Options is the best way to go.
-maybe opt out option to not play with guests players?
-don’t allow a higher level to invite a lower level into ranked matches?
-Maybe don’t allow just guest accounts into ranked?
I’m sure there are other options that your team can come up with, But don’t completely removed split screen in ranked!
